After some fiddling with the flame setting everything worked. Then fill up a second time. Since then it has never started again. A flame appears for a brief second, then spits out for a while, making a gas sound. I've played with the adjustment knob a lot, but to no avail. I wanted a reliable and refillable lighter, but a refillable lighter doesn't do anything if it doesn't light up.

It arrived on time. Well done. Easy to fill and lights up well. BUT when the trigger is released the flame doesn't stop immediately like every other gas lighter I've used. It will continue to burn for 3-5 seconds. You must wait until it is completely deactivated before putting it down, otherwise a serious accident may result. I only use it on an open grill where there is hardly any fire, but indoors it would be a problem.

I bought this to try and stop buying wasteful single use plastic items. I often use a lighter for lighting candles and for a fireplace in the colder months. It stopped working after a few weeks. I guess it didn't quite stop, but to get it working I'd have to try 15-20 times. I ended up getting the flame but it was very uncomfortable. So this one went in the trash and I went back to disposables until I found something that worked.

This lighter came with no instructions. Since you need to figure out how to load your own butane, a guide would be helpful. There is a small folding dial at the base of the handle that is not noticeable. You must flip up and turn the dial before you can add butane. There is also a mechanical problem. When releasing the trigger, the flame does not go out immediately. I consider it a fire hazard. I would not recommend this lighter.

I use it for the gas starter in my fireplace. It works great and the feature that lets you bend the nozzle is great. You place the logs in the rack and the long, curved nozzle allows you to fire the jets of gas safely. As I said in the title, my grandson loves being a chimneyman. With this lighter he can safely fire gas nozzles. I still have to open the chimney, but then I can watch my grandson do the rest. It is also very easy to refill butane.

I like this little flashlight because of the bendable neck. This will avoid injuring your hand when attempting to light something that is already burning at close range, such as a candle. B. Charcoal in a grill or kindling in a wood stove. When it is turned all the way, the flame will continue to burn for a few seconds after you release the button.
