It has good protection and is definitely a 'real' hat

I originally bought this hat to fit under my face mask to protect my hair from spoked wheel spatter. But one day I saw the horror on my wife's face when I wore it at home, now I wear it all the time. It has good protection and it's definitely a "real" hat and not just a bandana.

Pros
  • a good thing
Cons
  • knitter

Welding cap, that's all!

If this cap sold for more I wouldn't rate it a 5. I'm a size 7 3/8 and it fits perfectly. I wish it was a little lower on my ears but I usually can't find caps for it. The fabric is very coarse, almost like canvas but not as thick as canvas. It gets the job done and isn't designed for luxury. Good basic cap.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Negative Gift

Good customer service

They are smaller than the Large I bought, I assume they fit but obviously didn't fit. On the plus side, customer service was easy to deal with and offered to replace/return them for free. I completely forgot to return them because I bought them elsewhere, but the fact that they offered their help is great. So I'd give it a try, maybe my head is just oddly shaped or they're kinda mixed up.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Everything is fine

Great hat for the money

There is no air conditioning in my shop so any type of hat causes sweating - Sweat gets in your eyes - Your eyes water and you can't see. This hood works great to keep this to a minimum, although nothing I've used completely prevents it. It's thin enough to leave on my head between the welds, it allows perspiration to escape and evaporate, and the occasional ball of molten steel doesn't leave another scar on my bald head. Buy two or three - they need to be washed from time to time.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Hard to say

Great Value!: Headgear

Can't be beat for the money! I sweat a lot so I have to put on some hoods. Small-brimmed, stretchy Comeaux hats have been my go-to for years, but they cost about $10 each. I have tried some cheap rags and they are comfortable but still more expensive than this one. I have a pretty big head but it fits. I don't pull it over my ears, so I make a little pleat in the back to shorten it a bit. It's a bit stiff but I think it should soften with time and washing. I will order a few more before theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Not the Best

Product survived 60 hours of wear and half of those hours of welding with and without a mask and sparks in an enclosed space. Too bad I didn't spend the money at the beginning of my project or a few years ago. I can't tell you how many hats and caps I've wasted over the years and this cap keeps almost every spark from touching me. Also, the elastic on the back hasn't worn out yet and I've washed it two or three times. I've worn it under a hat and it still breathes well and I've never burnedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
