Did a better job than I expected.

I bought this to install a BB92 bottom bracket on my 17 YT Jeffsy. To be honest he did a better job than I expected. I was particularly pleased with how smoothly the detachable portion of the tool worked. I've never had high hopes for cheap foreign instruments, but this one squeezed clean and straight into my cups with very little effort. The adapters are true to size and fit well. Since I'll only be using it once every few years, I'm sure it will be more than enough. I have no reason to give…

A great tool set for replacing BB bearings!

I service my bike myself so I buy it when I can find a good inexpensive tool to get the job done. I needed to replace the bottom brackets and didn't want to spend $60 on a new bottom bracket. So I bought this tool and two new bearings for the same price. Now I can change bearings cheaply whenever I need to. The instructions were good, you just have to use the tool a bit to understand them. Once you get a little experience with it it becomes very easy to use and the quality seems great…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Succinct manual

Wonderful Bench Press AND MORE!

I used to use a threaded rod with a couple of washers or steel plates to press in bottom brackets. But it works much better. It not only pushes in the new bottom bracket, but also pushes out the existing bottom bracket without damage. Previously the bottom bracket would have been destroyed if I had taken it out. In the meantime I've learned that I can also use this press to press in or out spring bearings on our full-suspension bikes. I use metric freewheels and it's very easy to remove and…

Great value for money

I bought this item to install a SHIMANO 6800 system on a new frame (replaced after a crash). This was my first time removing and installing a press-fit bottom bracket. I've watched a few YouTube videos to familiarize myself with the process and I was particularly concerned about the removal part as the bottom bracket needs to be knocked out with a hammer and I have a carbon fiber frame. This may not be necessary as this tool is excellent for removing the bottom bracket without using a hammer…

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Modern

Please note that the knockdown is made of aluminum and not steel. Why is it important? Well, bearings are made of steel, and steel is much harder than aluminum. When you compress the bottom bracket, you wedge a piece of steel into a strong frame. The bottom line is that this piece of steel must be exactly aligned with the opposite bearing. Well, when comparing steel to aluminum, aluminum will lose out. The drift force on the mandrel bent the edge of the mandrel and wedged the bearing at an…

upset. Poor instructions and quality

Bought as a cheaper alternative to Park Tools to save some money as I only need it occasionally. Wanted to replace my BB86. First, the instructions you see in the product description are three times the quantity you will receive with the actual product, so make sure you bookmark the product page. Second, when I tried to use the tool, there was some paint stuck in the threads of the retainer cup, which caught on the threads of the bolt and damaged it instead of severing it. Here is such a soft…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Slightly wrinkled
