Trust the reviews! Round heads only.

This helmet looks good and appears to be well built but doesn't fit. As other reviewers have said, this helmet is round instead of oval. There were significant gaps between the helmet and the side of my head. When pulled down, it puts too much pressure on the front and back of the head. Trust the reviews, it's true. Be prepared to send this back if you don't have a round head. There are other products in this price range that are significantly better. I chose the Base Camp NEO which fits well…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

Fits my round head!

I only bought this helmet because of the negative reviews that this helmet is too wide and it really is. It was (almost) perfect for my lap. In the past I've had to wear a fat XL size only to barely fit in which again leaves a lot of room in the front and back and the gargantuan size makes me look ridiculous. However this helmet definitely feels cheaper with heavier padding and foam which I would have given 2 stars if it wasn't for the good fit. Obviously the fit is up to the user, but they…

Pros
  • This is great

Great purchase for cycling

4 stars Basic but some minor issues: (1) There is nothing to hang a night light on the back of the helmet. I had to install a strobe for my night lighting for my winter rides. (2) A screw-on visor feels flimsy and fragile and probably will NOT last as long as a helmet. I hope the manufacturer offers a replacement. Don't drop your helmet as the visor probably won't take the fall. (3) Part of my head touches a hard inner surface with no soft padding. However, there are Velcro straps that can be…

Wide round fit. in sports

Overall shape looks good, visor, chin latch and rear adjuster work well. The overall quality is a cheap feel. It looks more like a toy as the plastic is hard and flimsy and the clasp and inner plastic are cheap. I've never fallen off a bike or hit my head, but I believe this helmet will hold up and protect your bowler hat. Fit on the big rounded side and small gaps on the upper sides and especially on the back of the head. It's also low and the back of the helmet sits low on the back of the…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not sure

Worth the money if it suits your grapes.

Visually a very attractive helmet; not too big, not too small. just looks good. The package may be slightly different. It's more of a round shape. So if you have a rather oval head or are an alien, you could be in trouble. I expect the Aliens will have issues aside from helmet size. The front visor isn't necessarily removable, although you can. There is a small tab in the center that breaks when removed, but the two side screws still hold the visor perfectly once reattached. Without the visor…

great fit - great looks - great ventilation

Having been a Bell guy for about 30 years, I was disappointed when my new Bell helmet started falling apart after only a few months. I think if you are a brand leader you don't have to try. I ordered this and Base Camp Neo thinking it would be the best match so I returned Neo (thanks Revain). I'm 6'3", 225 lbs, white guy 50+ who rides 30+ miles a week. Two of my buddies tried it on and it didn't fit my only mate, a 6ft 2in black guy. and I guess around 200lbs and probably 35 40. He found it was

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Zero

Just the first impression as I don't think I will keep it. As some others have pointed out, it has a more "round" shape and may not suit every person's head shape. I had too much room on the sides and also some pressure at the top of my head which wasn't as comfortable as other helmets I've had. On the plus side it looks good and is the only reasonably priced helmet I've seen that's specifically designed for mountain biking and not just a redesigned road helmet with a flimsy visor. It has…
