Lumax LX 1632 Black Drainmaster Storage Review

When removing an oil plug for the first time, it is not possible to position the tub to catch the flow. It makes a mess. After the oil change is complete and the cap is in place, the old oil will spill out if not held in a horizontal position. This will be sent to the trash and I will replace it with one that has a larger coverage area.

Loved that it holds 15 litres. used it twice. The first time I used it to change the oil in a lawnmower so there wasn't much oil. it leaked, i cleaned it and i didn't use it for several months. This summer my son and I changed the oil in his car, about 5 liters. The next morning my whole garage was full. Spout lid does not close, something is wrong

Overall good design and works well to hold the drain plug when you pull it out in case you drop it. And good for pouring oil, but that's where the pros end. This makes the cheap plastic and screw cap easy to wash off and also doesn't seal well. For the overall design, if it costs $10 or less, it might be worth having. Not worth more because of the thin material.

I made the mistake of not reading all the reviews and just looking at the ratings. I put this thing in my trunk to take my old oil to an auto parts store and it spilled 7 quarts of engine oil in the trunk of my car. The trunk liner is most likely damaged and I can't drain the oil from the real metal of the trunk. What a nightmare. Do yourself a favor and drain the used oil into a waste oil container. This is just terrible.

Summary: Great for Harley Davidson and doesn't leak at all. Doesn't get under the main drain plug easily because of the bike stand, but can easily get under the engine and transmission. I looked at many oil pans on Revain before settling on this one. My requirements were that it would fit under the Harley (so height was key) and be able to stow without leaking. It had to last at least one full oil change, ideally more to save the trip to a nearby collection point, and it also had to be easy to…
