I love this ball winder. It was easy to assemble. I couldn't attach it to my kitchen table because the piece of wood under the stick was too low and I couldn't fully rotate the L piece to tighten it on the table so I had to find another surface to attach it to. Luckily I had an old TV stand that I wasn't using so I attached it to it and it worked great. Yesterday I managed to wrap 20 balls of yarn. 8 of these were 9 ounce balls and the ones I didn't have to cut because of the knot fit together…

VIEW (⊙_⊙) @ MY PHOTOS. It's not perfect, but you can improve things with a little creativity. If you get a mess while wrapping, you're not getting enough tension. Yarn likes to get caught in balls and I had no luck with pliers so I stuffed a piece of paper towel inside. Tether for tension sucks! There are a million better things to use, those eyebolts or even hooks that are a little offset, whatever creates a little tension. I had a box. Fold the top, put in a few stones I had for weight…

Much stronger than my previous ball roll

For several years I had a small (4 ounce) ball roll in a plastic case. It's seen better days, so I figured it was time to invest in a bigger winder (and it was my birthday, so it was *technically* a gift). It certainly arrived quickly via Prime and I was very positively surprised at how heavy it is! The roller is large - it should hold 10 oz. Most of the skeins I wrap are 100g sock yarn, so that should work just fine. I tested this with 6 skeins of sports yarn, about 200 yards each. The grip…
