Worked as expected. Good seal

Replaced the seal on the back door of my old house. It was surprisingly basic, but I removed the door because it was being repainted.

Pros
  • Decent job
Cons
  • Almost all right

Cannot be attached Hardware

There is no overhang on one side, so attachment is not possible. I took the door completely off its hinges. If the lip was the same height on both sides, that would be perfect.

  • New

I didn't know what I was missing!

The trim under my back door was coming off so I bought it. The hardest part was removing the door! The cover fits perfectly and was easy to assemble. I used screws to make sure my glue stuck. Now my door has a nice whistle when it closes and it takes a final "push" to fully close it since it's so snug. Love it!

No more draft! - Door Hardware and Locks

Replaced the original block the builder installed in my house when it was built with this block and it fitted perfectly. Make sure you installed it correctly. The door must be removed from its hinges. A bead of gasket on the bottom of the door and this block, which screws (not nails) to the bottom of the door, keeps out drafts, bugs, and anything else that can get through a broken gasket.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • Something different

Anderson Door Seal

We have just installed this seal on our 2005 Anderson single door (with window) which is 32" wide and opens into the house. We could not determine whether or not the original door required a split seal. We ordered this product and then found that our door had slots. We simply installed this seal with door and window glue and 4 screws. It works great. Next time I will know to order the one with the slots but overall I think this product is well made and will last well for years.

  • Impressive

  • Great Price

Pretty good quality but raindrops snag and get stuck under the door.

Has been replaced with the same type that has probably been hanging on my door since it was new. Easy to install by removing the door and using the screws provided. I had to trim the end off about half an inch and I also used a dab of caulk to make good contact. At the end of the job, only about half an hour of work, I noticed that raindrops touched the sill and were pulled back under the door, luckily my front door is pretty well covered so not much rain falls on it. See how long it lasts, but

Works great, easy installation

Easy installation once the door is off the hinges. I put the door on a couple of saws, removed the old worn out door comb, decided to apply another coat of paint to seal the bottom of the door and screwed on a new door brush (I used 4-5 small stainless brushes). . steel screws I had on my workbench - you can also use small nails or sometimes staple them - I think the screws hold better). Works as it should, no drafts under the door. Not sure how long it will last but seems to be about the same…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

Fits perfectly on my 36 " steel door.

It fit so well I didn't have to cut it, although removing the door wasn't that easy. I read the instructions which the previous homeowner seems to have overlooked and installed correctly, not the reverse method the old one did.The benefit is the tight seal at the bottom, the downside is the door is no longer as easy to push or pull on as used to be closed so we often find them partially closed and need to do better work on that before the cold weather hits .. Another downside to a tight seat is

Pros
  • Best in its niche

Couldn't get it to work - stuck in the corner of the hinge

There is a lip that slides over the long edge of the door and then the ledge almost snaps into place. The hem is very thin and it is difficult to keep the strip in the right position to keep the lip from curling. The ribbon is actually quite thick, so it's hard to pierce. The nails need to be inserted between the ribs and it is almost impossible to get nails (not included) flush with the bottom of the door as the ribs are stiff enough that a hammer blow won't drive the nails all the way in. . I
