Compliments Revain and Magellan

I bought this item for my fiancee who often gets lost as she is new to the area. The vines fell off the first one, and Revane sent a new one, taking the faulty one from outside my door. This was my first time returning something to Revain and I was very impressed with the service. The second unit couldn't find itself so we called the Magellan Help Desk and were put through by a very helpful gentleman. My girlfriend loves this thing! My only downside is that the instructions are a bit confusing…

Very impressed Good for sports and portable GPS

I'm a skeptic. I was surprised. I'm looking at new cars and noticed the price of a built in GPS. $1,500 to $2,500 (depending on how well you negotiate). Just got back from a 996 mile trip to Hilton Head Island from Chicago. Magellan took me door to door. My kids called him Hallen. He kept his sine 97% of the way. Losing the signal, he returned within a few miles. It shows you the route when the signal is lost. Several times they found gasoline and food for the family. I originally bought this…

I love my Magellan 700!

I didn't even know I needed a GPS until I took a cross country trip in a Hertz rental car equipped with Magellan Never Lost GPS. We used it all the time and we really never got lost. It got me hooked and before I got home I decided to buy a GPS. I spent a lot of time researching this issue and I was attracted to models that had the entire US stored on internal storage. Decided on Garmin 2620 and Magellan 700. Garmin has some nice features, but in the end I chose Magellan because of the ease of…

Required Device

I'm a Sheriff's Squad Volunteer and I spend most weekends alone in the squad car. I kept stopping, searching the streets and 100 blocks, trying to find addresses. I was hoping that over time I would be able to use the maps faster, but stopping to put on my reading glasses etc really slowed me down. I mainly transport prisoners and assist with routine tasks, but I also assist MPs on hot assignments as I am also armed, so finding an address quickly is important. Using the Roadmate 700 was really…

Never leave home without it

So, like most of my impulse buys, this device was just another really cool techno toy, similar to an Archos pocket AV recorder, which I haven't used except one either MP3 player. But on my way home from work the day I bought the Roadmate 700, I was driving down a road that was closed due to a serious car accident and had to detour into unfamiliar territory to try to avoid the accident . Each residential street was clearly marked on the map, and even before the turn I knew if that street led to…

By far the best portable GPS on the market

I have had several Garmin units over the years and have always been happy with them. This was my first Magellan and I have to say I was very impressed. The screen quality is incredible. Regardless of the lighting conditions, it is always clearly visible. It is also the largest display among portable devices. I particularly like it when all US maps are integrated into the device. No more loading or changing memory cards on long trips. I found the voice prompts to be clear, audible, and…
