Description of Makita 01644 Impact XPS Pc

Bits last up to 90X longer than standard impact bits. Bits feature precision machined tips, pulse torsion rings, an optimized torsion zone, and unique steel, combine to deliver improved overall performance and bit life. Precision machined tips provide a superior full contact fit for improved holding power and longer life. Pulse Torsion Rings help to disperse impact energy through the torsion zone and off of the bit tip. Optimized Torsion Zone geometry facilitates an ideal transfer of impact energy for improved bit life.

I'm still holding on to my Milwaukee drivers.

Based on some research I preferred the Makita kit over the Milwaukee. So far the beats are holding up really well. I mostly use the flush mount bit. The bit holders are magnetic and hold the bits easily. Nothing bent or broken which I consider advanced home use. I've screwed in an entire 5 pound box of 4" #2 male screws and the tip shows no signs of wear. I would take this set again.

The short T20 bit broke on the 7th screw

I was running 2.5" #10 screws and the small T20 bit broke off on the 7th screw (see picture). I've used a few other attachments sparingly (namely the long cross cross) and they seem fine, but my confidence in the quality of this product has suffered greatly. I would only give 1 star but the problem is mitigated by the extra T20 bit included in the package. I hope I just got unlucky and other bits are proving to be more durable than this one.

MUCH better than DeWalt

So. Seems to be a very good selection of bits. I have a similar set from DeWalt and I have to say they are MUCH better because the goddamn holders rotate so you can easily pull the bits out but more importantly you can PUT THEM BACK IN! I HATE, HAT, HAT how hard it is to get parts back into a DeWalt case. Don't take the DeWalt set. This set costs twice as much at best. Otherwise the beats appear to be of normal quality but I haven't tested them at all so I don't know.

  • Great overall performance

Beyond the Tips

These boxes are much smoother and the tips are easier to remove than the awful Milwaukee boxes. I have a 4-5 Milwaukee and you almost need needle nose pliers to get the bits out. Too tight. And they don't fold up easily. The Makita is silky smooth in every way. Even the lock on the box is very smooth. Unlike my Dewalt lock. The beats are superb and plenty of reviews point to that. What Makita needs to do is have a lockable extension cord like Milwaukee and Dewalt. They work well but I would…

I had to send back the 1st set!

This is a good value bit set for me. They feel solid and the PH2 bit fits nicely. I had to return the 1st set because I realized I had done something wrong. Instead of a 2" PH2 bit I got a 2" T15 bit and really wanted a PH2 which I use regularly. So I sent it back for a replacement and Revain shipped it to me within a few days. The only thing I don't like is that the tabs that flip the bits are very brittle and I noticed there was a tab in the 1st set that was about to break. abort. I don't…

Body arrived broken

I use all Makita tools and love them. The drill bits and case look great and you already know that Makita products are reliable. My only issue was that when it came down to it, the bottom right row of drill bits was broken and wasn't spinning like the others. It was only one side so not the end of the world for me as the whole set didn't fall out of the case and I needed the bits right away and didn't want to wait for it to be sent back and for it to come back. I probably should have been…

Didn't expect it to be that good

I'm usually the guy who buys the cheapest when it comes to drills, bits etc. I consider them "disposable". Then I bought them based on the reviews on youtube and I have to say they are value for money compared to the cheap stuff. For example, the #2 Phillips wrench is so finely crafted that I can hang a punch on the end of a partially-installed screw without even using the tip of a magnet. The magnet at the base of the wrench itself is worth it, it's nice that I don't have to keep retarding the

BEST OF THE BEST

I saw a video on Project Farm (YouTube - you should check it out) comparing different brands of bits. Makita came out on top, so I decided to treat myself and buy some. I had no idea what a difference those quality bits would make. I usually think of bits as "disposable" (that's why I buy them in bulk from HF), but this caused me to reconsider my stance on the subject. I've been using the same sprocket and crosshead for 2 months and they still look and work like I just took them out of the box.

Great sentence! Excellent hold!

I am a home gamer and needed a starter kit for my new HD Milwaukee M12 screwdriver/drill set that was on sale. drawn to durability and traction, especially Makita Golds. Then this XPS set came out recently and was touted by many as great. There are videos on Youtube showing their amazing fit/feel (check out the VCG construction video). Of course, my XPS bits were great. The box is sturdy and the set can be flipped over to remove the racket. Each bit is labeled on the box for readability. The…
