🧶 Scrub it Yarn in White by Mary Maxim Review

I used this fun 'yarn' to make Christmas gift washcloths. I love the texture and it's not stiff on fingers like Red Heart Scrubbie Yarn. I plan to wrap each washcloth with a small ball and tie with red ribbon for Christmas gifts and presents.

Not as messy as I was hoping. It's a nice color and texture, but it's not a "dirty" texture. My first reaction was to buy one of each color. I was glad I didn't. I make kitchen towels for sale and if and when this one sells I think I'll lose money. There was only enough thread for a medium sized napkin.

I love this yarn! Easy to crochet and great for washing dishes. They are very absorbent (after the first machine wash) and rough enough to separate some dried foods that get stuck on the counter. Blog tip: crochet the base row one size larger than the one you want to use for the rest of the doily and you'll get nice square corners.

Good news first. The shaggy pattern that comes with the yarn is accurate and easy to follow. And one strand makes a washcloth, not big but big enough to get the job done. However, the finished product has some disadvantages. The cotton yarn soaked up a lot of bath gel without producing a lot of suds. I had to use about three times more than I would normally put on a clean mesh. After use, I rinsed it well to remove absorbed gel and hung it to dry by a handy loop. 12 hours later he was still…
