I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER

I will never buy again. The product works well and I've had my first one for about 2 years. The monitor hasn't turned on lately and I thought it was a defective monitor so I ordered a new full kit. I have several trucks and it works well for hooking up trailers. one. so why not. when I got a new one. I plugged it in and everything works as usual. So I tried the old monitor with the new power cord and you know what. The monitor is fine, it's the cable. I called Master Lock and they told me. Iโ€ฆ

Works well but needs an extension to get a good picture.

. I liked the idea that it was wireless and the camera could be moved from the hitch to anywhere else on the truck. However, when there was a stutter, the image on the monitor was static and unusable. Based on another review I decided to add an extension. One with the correct connectors was available on E-Bay. If you go this route, be careful. Most connections on extension cords are RP-SMA (reverse polarity). This setup requires normal (non-RP) SMA connections. If you buy a SMA male/femaleโ€ฆ

Good idea - it just doesn't work.

First I installed a Masterlock camera in my Toyota Tacoma's suspension and connected a 4 pin electrical connector to the trailer circuit. This part of the work was a trifle. Then I looked for a way to mount the monitor. I tried mounting the suction cup to the windshield but found that while the suction cup shaft appears flexible, it is actually a flexible piece of plastic covering in the form of a rigid rod. This prevented me from positioning the monitor in an acceptable spot. I also found theโ€ฆ

Absolute junk: car safety

I don't normally write bad reviews but this product deserves one. I bought this product to mount a camera on the back of my 28ft trailer so I can see if cars are getting too close and to see if it's safe to change lanes. I used RTV silicone to permanently attach the camera to the top center of my trailer so I can't take it off and put it back on without destroying it. Also, I haven't installed it for almost 45 days after purchase. Reception was spotty at best and could have been greatlyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Magnetic base attaches to any metal surface of the car to tow or attach a trailer
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Smaller than expected, good for vehicle and car electronics

In fairness, the parts that come with it are really good and worthy of praise, but the signal reception is a big disappointment. Of course this works from time to time and will work well enough that I can save this article and get by with it when it's attached to a trailer. The signal strength just isn't strong enough to reach from the tailgate to the dash of a full-size Chevy pickup truck with a 6.5-inch body and an extended tongue. I have a trailer wiring connector to plug into my factoryโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Trailer wiring connects to a continuous T-connector on camera port for use during towing
Cons
  • repair work

Great camera but there are some issues.

Overall this product works well. The only major problem is that the camera is set to channel 4 and the monitor is set to channel 1. Switching the monitor to channel 4 takes about 6 seconds. I have to wait about a second between channels before I can switch to the next channel. So it takes three clicks and one second of waiting between clicks. On my device, the keys were labeled incorrectly. I understand why some people find it difficult to change channels. For the channel button, use the topโ€ฆ
