Just the right size to mount and secure my trail cameras.

The Python cable lock works great for my security cameras and protects them from common thieves. I lost my camera to a thief about 8 years ago and it had a python cable lock that attached it to a fairly large tree. I'm pretty sure they had either a cutting tool or bolt cutters. They're not completely thief-proof, but then again, there really isn't anything. However, they stop the unprepared thief. Love the fact that all the locks in this set of 4 have the same keys. Each lock comes with 2 keysโ€ฆ

The best cable locks you can buy

These are very strong locks that are almost impossible to cut. I saved some trees and discovered cameras someone was trying to steal. The lock prevented theft. I still lost the ratchet straps and seat cushion, but the stand was still attached to the tree. I also use them to stall a small trolling motor on a sea boat. It's lightweight and could be easily taken off and taken with you, but easy to fix with them. They're not cheap, but you get what you pay for. They also have a small tether endโ€ฆ

Makes Honest People Honest

That's the point of these cable locks: They won't stop a thief from stealing my expensive security cameras, but they will stop ordinary people from stealing them. I needed these thinner cables for my Bushnell Bear transmission boxes because the holes drilled in the cable boxes are too small to fit the larger Python cables that I use for my non-transmitter camera boxes. These cables wouldn't even need bolt cutters to cut them in half; Wire cutters could do the job. For thicker cables you need at

Not very strong

Other reviewers mentioned that these cable locks have one fatal flaw - the loop that connects the cable to the lock is plastic. Most likely, all it takes is a few hits with a rock, hammer, ax, etc., and the attacker will have your game cam. It makes sense to lock all my cameras with one key (I bought six packs), but that's another security vulnerability. How many key patterns do they use (master lock)? For all that, these cable locks on our cameras preserve the honesty of only honest people; If

Excellent protection for trail cameras

These cables are the best choice for trail camera enthusiasts. I really appreciate that I can buy multiple devices with the same keys. When I'm in the woods trying to control multiple cameras, it's nice not having to fiddle with multiple buttons. For larger trees I can join 2 or more to increase the length. So why use a cable? First, they are obviously a deterrent against theft. Sometimes I set my cameras in more urban areas where people are more likely to encounter them. The second reason isโ€ฆ

Locks for Honest People

I bought these locks to secure things like my security cameras, tree stands and a little extra security for my spare tire on my trailer. It's not the locks fault that the cable doesn't go through the holes in my trace chambers, so that idea was dropped. The other two ideas will still work. However, when installing the locks, I was confronted with the fact that the pivot point on the cable turned out to be plastic. I was hoping the plastic was just a coating but I don't think so. It scratchesโ€ฆ

I broke a key in an old Python lock that hasn't been touched in a tree for at least a few years. Master Lock will replace him as a courtesy. However, the broken key turned out to be aluminum or some similar metal, not steel or brass. I had another python and took the "aluminum" key to a locksmith. He used an ILCO 1092VA brass blank which made the best key. Take your Python to the locksmith. It took a bit of polishing before the key worked perfectly in the lock. Going forward I will lock myโ€ฆ

Great for many different uses

These locks are great for many different uses. Obviously most people use them for trail cameras and they're great for that, but if you have kayaks with a locking point you can use them to lock them in your truck/trailer (or to each other if needed), they can be used as bike locks , for tree stands, grill locks, stair locks or, as another test showed, through multiple locker doors instead of individual padlocks. Very strong and durable. If you plan on leaving them out for a very long time (read:
