Brilliant new style hole saws, extremely fast

These are great saws. I have 4 sizes so far. Extremely superior to a traditional hole. They are 3-4 times faster and last longer thanks to the large carbide teeth.

Pros
  • Fits mandrels with 5/8-18 UNF thread; 2-1/4" depth of cut makes it easy to cut through thick or layered building materials in one pass
Cons
  • No Power

Good, durable hole saw

Good for cutting holes in drywall for installing recessed lighting. The hole saw cut nice, even holes with a small chip in the plaster. It's still in good shape after 10+ holes, although I suspect the bi-metal hole saw would dull after a few holes.

Pros
  • Optimized teeth penetrate material easily and have the same even cutting load with minimal vibration
Cons
  • Socket wrench required

Used for drilling brick walls to exit the dryer.

My old bi-metal hole saw just couldn't cut through a brick wall while it was still sharp so I used this carbide tooth hole saw with a hammer drill and it worked fine. I asked someone to sprinkle water on the brick to keep the saw dusty and cool. Teeth still look new after use and quickly got rid of the brick. Goodbye.

Pros
  • Multiple knockouts and wide chip gap for easy core removal (fast core ejection); Thick hardened back plate resists warping
Cons
  • Lightly dented
