I will buy all other sizes!

Great offer. You can find the same on the tool trolley for a small price. Mayhew makes great tools that can withstand abuse.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • I will add later

Excellent for stamping rings

Excellent for stamping bearing rings. Eventually it needs to be sanded down, but I've done big races for diesel trucks. Great value for money. Would buy again

Great product for mechanical and hand tools

I used this for the first time because I needed to remove the press fit bearing race. I had a very good scream, very light mushroom heads and a mostly undamaged body that I had to reuse.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Almost never

Great product as are all Mayhew tools

I work with trailers and have used a big hit to survive races, it was a real problem and took forever. But my colleague allowed me to do the same shot, it was the best thing I've ever done. Recommend this to any mechanic who does wheel wells every day.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Available in white only

Good hit for hub racing, tractors or rigs

Works great so far. I use this hammer mainly for punching wheel hubs on tractors and trailer hubs. So far I really like the tools from Mayhew and the price is better than hoping a tool cart will buy them. I can not complain. Ultimately, you need to use the right tool for the job, and this one won't disappoint.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

A useful tool, but what you see is not what you get.

I expected this tool to have a beveled edge. The ones I received don't. The one I got has an oval lip that seems to work well if you can get to the back of the bearing ring. Otherwise if you need to beat the race from the front. This tool is practically useless. It seems to be hitting well and was helpful in removing a blind race so don't worry. I just wish I was hit with an angled edge.

Pros
  • Happy so far
Cons
  • Will write later

Fantastic tool - power tool and hand tool

The 9/16" x 14" version of this tool was perfect for our Dexter 3500 trailer hubs. Additional surface area at the edge of the track due to the unique ovals shape of the head. The 14" length was just right for hammering. Removing rings from a hub has never been easier. I also like that this steel tool doesn't flake metal shavings like a traditional brass punch. Getting metal shavings into the bearing would be a disaster.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Excellent punch for bearing rings

Excellent for knocking out bearing rings. The longer length makes the hub easier to clean, and the oval shape gives you more racing confidence than a round punch. A small cone also helps. Use small sleds for better acceleration. I also used it to knock out the bottom bracket + gasket since I didn't have a gasket puller. minuses? Despite being hardened steel, it's still not as strong as racing. I have found that the surface of the stamp still deforms quite a bit, especially when it slides off…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable
