🔨 Mayhew Select 89082 Punch Set of 3 Pieces Review

This is exactly what I was looking for. This is a nice set of kicks and they are made in the USA! The only thing they could have done better is if they came in a plastic case or something to store.

Even 25% of the force coming from my hammer in a seated position and at an upward angle and these things have lost their ability to buckle. In fact, they didn't even make a dent.

Good stamps at a great price. As a machinist, I always gravitate towards anything made in the USA. Although the picture seems wrong or misleading to me. I was 100% expecting square shank tools. These punches have a hex shank. However, highly recommend them.

Quite happy with it for the price. They are strong enough to do the job I bought them for which is to attach castle nuts to the buffer tubes and get enough holes to keep the bit from slipping. While they are quite sufficient for these tasks. The time will show.

So far they seem to be exactly what I bought and paid for; no less and no more. The quality seems pretty good, although one of them seems to have a fairly flat 'tip', but that's nothing a trip to the grinder can't solve. Generally worth the money. If anything changes I will update accordingly.

I use them when installing cab corners and sills on cars. Usually a 1/8 hole punch will make enough dents to turn screws, but some cars like jeeps and some trucks have thicker metal that requires a heavier punch to turn screws.
