Analog NZXT USB 2.0 Hub

Got this to fix an issue with my X570 chipset and Corsair Commander Pro. Bought because the NZXT hub recommended on the Corsair forums is either available or not. Initially I was afraid to include it in my build as I didn't know the manufacturer. After receiving the goods, however, the quality of workmanship exceeded all my expectations. The acrylic case is really well made and the magnets are strong enough to hold the device to the bottom of the steel case and not move under the pressure of…

It really works, but read these reviews first!

Like many others who have purchased this unit, I was looking for an efficient solution to expand my microITX board's single USB port for a variety of RGB capabilities. The NZXT hub seems to have died out, and I don't trust the random unnamed USB hubs you see everywhere. Luckily, some other people have tested this product and found that it works despite its quirks. My setup: The hub plugs directly into the motherboard USB socket, and I connect two additional USB cables to two devices: one…

DO NOT CONNECT SATA POWER

This is a great cheap alternative to the NZXT's internal USB hub, but if the NZXT is available buy it instead. This is an easy way to split a USB 2.0Mb header into 3 additional headers and 2 additional USB-A connectors. However, the SATA power input will NOT work well with your motherboard. These circuits are not properly isolated and will result in strange cold start behavior and will most often overload the power supply and trigger its safety mechanism. For now, I'm leaving the SATA power off

Fixes Corsair Commander Pro USB issues on X570 boards

Another vote for "Fix X570 and Corsair Commander Pro USB issues". As mentioned, there is an issue with the USB controllers used on many X570 motherboards that causes Corsair Commander Pro a) not to work properly as a USB passthrough for other RGB hubs/fans and b) actually causing problems for other USB devices throughout the system. This internal hub was cheaper and more affordable than the NZXT hub reviewed, so I decided to give it a try after reading other success stories. Previously, iCue…
