Cheap and great! I will buy again!

A $5,000 Gravel Bike? Craigslist finds: 1989 Shogun MTB revived as a Franken bike Installed: Origin8 goose spring stem/46cm FSA Adventure handlebar/R7 Brifter all by Revain. Great performer on local Sierra Nevada roads/trails/damn coffee or beer. how could i lose So far, the MicroNew has worked perfectly with standard Shimano Deore rear derailleurs. Will be buying again this winter for another build like this. Very satisfied.

Unexpectedly good function

I installed the switches to make sure everything was done right; and so it was. The shifters far exceeded my expectations. I like the button trigger to toggle "up"; very good. Shifting "down" with the lever works very well and, in contrast to shift levers on the bike, is not distracting beforehand. A fact that protects me by paying attention to the road. Excellent value for money and a pleasure to use; even my bike feels expensive.

Great value for a vintage makeover

Excellent value for money. The rubber and plastic look good and shifting is quick and precise. Side note: I've been using Ultegra and Force for my road bikes for ages, but for a cheap conversion from old 3x7 hybrids to gravel and city bombers, they're totally awesome and better than Shimano Tourney for less money. Shifting gears takes a little getting used to. As others have noted, releasing and rolling the thumb takes quite a long time. One star off for a design that made it difficult to…

The price was right as a replacement for defective RSX Brifters.

What can I say I was curious if these brifters would compete with a brand like Shimano as their new brifters are very expensive. I love fixing bikes and it's very exciting to find value in a part like this. I also like the easy push-button downshifts, a definite improvement over the RSX they replace. I'm going to put them on another bike that's also been breaking the RSX for years and I've only used it as a single speed. I took it to a bike mechanic and they told me it couldn't be fixed and…

Micrometer or Microdisplacement?

Honestly I don't see any difference. First impression, very nicely put together. Mounted on a 420mm crossbar, it feels solid. The throw is a bit long if you have long fingers, perfect! If not, like me, a little awkward. However, you quickly get used to it. The rear shifts perfectly without sweat. The front shifts are a little rough, but manageable. Small front sprocket to middle sprocket, you need to make 2 clicks then it is on. And it only takes 1 click to switch to the big sprocket. Shift…

Great and durable switches for the price!

I used these briefers to convert an old Cannondale hybrid into a drop bar gravel eater. Installation was easy and they shift well. I added built-in barrel adjusters since the derailleur body is unthreaded. This made setting up the switches much easier. They feel solid and engage securely in every gear. Lever travel is a bit long compared to Shimano. I personally prefer the upshift and downshift levers to be on the same side of the control stick, so that's exactly what I was looking for. The…

  • Multiple Competitors
Cons
  • Upgrade Availability

I don't quite understand why there are such rave reviews for this product. I mean it's good value for money, but what you get isn't really a complete package. Here are my reasons why I think it's overrated: 1. The product replaces separate shifters AND brake levers but only comes with two extra cables. If the bike it's going to be mounted on already has cables installed that's one thing, but if you're building/rebuilding a bike budget extra for extra cables. I just find it silly to only provide
