Really great router

The router was purchased for home use on the advice of my local supplier. I've owned over half a dozen routers and installed just as many for friends and family. I have no hesitation in saying that this Mikrotik is the best I've ever used in terms of its very rich feature set, full configurability, vendor patch support and reliability to date. Great router for computers and accessories

With new fiber in the house it was time to replace my old WRT54GL (with DD-WRT) with a higher performing router and it suited my needs. (I moved an old router to our AirBnB guest house and connected it to this with a hidden cable on its own subnet.) I'm using Linux Mint and the WinBox software works fine through Wine. I took a chance and ordered one of these so I never had to use my FIOS router again. The only feature that's really "missing" is 5GHz WiFi, since it's only 2.4GHz. If you don't know what that means, you probably aren't considering this router. It's always possible to use a separate hotspot, as I already do. So if you need "AC" WiFi, you can still do it.
