Excellent template for routing consistent hinge inserts. However, I really wish this was designed with a clip where you could adjust the size of the clip to the thickness of the door and hold the template in place. This template will require you to insert screws into the door to hold it in place. I hate making extra screw holes in my new doors.

Replace your doors for a small fee! I replaced my 1970's hollow doors with nice 6-piece doors from Lowe's for $50 each. I was so glad I didn't have to change the frame as it was oak. I've never done anything like this before. I bought a $99 battery powered Dewalt router and followed the instructions. Voila! 6 doors changed a day! Don't set it too low or the inside of the door will press against the frame.

I needed to make custom jambs for three doors and bought this block to finish with the hinges. The supplied guides/bearing templates fit easily on the supplied hinges of the doors. However, I had an interior/exterior door that also required a custom jamb and had larger hinges than this unit could handle. So I had to lay the loops manually. It turns out it's really easy. Ordered to help a friend get through doors. I have to say it works well. The included cutter ensures an even cut. Definitely made the job easier. I had to tinker a bit, but not enough to complain. I feel like the router bit itself is a bonus of this deal. solid product. Because of the multiple inputs and outputs, only the screws that hold the bracket in place need to be replaced. If you've bought a door that needs a hinge groove and want to do it inexpensively, this is the tool for you!
