Nutcracker! The general fit is not very good. I think they suit a slim girl without a priest. The crotch design has no room for family, a completely flat front, and no glute room - I'm 5ft 11", 165lbs, waist 33" and I'm fit! But these swimming trunks don't fit! It's not a waist, it's a generic design (Asian only!). The material is very thick and restrictive.

This is one of the most comfortable suits I have ever worn and I have worn it for over 30 years. The belt is nice and wide so you can tighten it without cutting it and it's just the right length. I recently lost one and reordered it because I really liked it - better than all the $20 and $30 suits from the more expensive brands. Just make sure you read the size chart carefully as these are Asian sizing. I did and I got exactly what I needed.

If you like (and can wear!) speedometer swimwear this is for you. However, check the size chart - my waist is 34 and xxl fits almost perfectly. I think they would be fine in a "family situation" (we're vacationing in Europe where this type of clothing is more common); "Package inflation" is not too noticeable. My waist is 34 inches with a tape measure so I ordered Medium-Plus (Asian size 2XL) and they are a little bit small, a little bit tight. I usually wear plus size lingerie and t-shirts to be honest, but I wear a medium size with regular shorts and shirts. Your usual underwear size and you should be fine.
