Good product just not complete

I can say the product should work and do its job, but it was much larger than the factory pipe (I understand it should have been for more air + more PS) but to be honest it was too big. It was pressed against the intake and power steering hoses and I didn't like paying $200 for it. I am now sending it back and also buying a factory whistle

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design

Suitable for 2002 wrx ej205

So. It fits. But it's a lot easier if you've already removed the intake manifold from the engine, like mine. Still tight but fits. The quality is excellent, all accessories are high quality. The best way to install is to remove the intake manifold and replace the gaskets while you're there. Draw like me and assemble. I can't imagine putting that thing in there without him. It's worth the money and works great. I won't throw a CEL either.

The quality is excellent, the plugs fit perfectly on the hoses

I bought this for my Subaru Forester XT SG9 (2006). Pretty difficult to install without removing the manifold, but it took some brute force to get in. This inlet is a lot looser than the standard, so tune it down. My turbo sucked in so much air that I was running too lean. The quality is excellent and the plugs fit perfectly on the hoses. The air intake seems short at 10mm, but it manages to reach as little as possible. The return inlets are a bit tight together to fit 100% under the header…

Suitable for baguettes with a little refinement

I had to move the evaporator solenoid and run some wires just under the manifold to install it. I had to move the solenoid to keep one of the elbow/vacuum line connectors from bending after it was connected. It also didn't fit without moving the wrapped wiring (injector, sensors) that runs just under the manifold next to the intake hose. Quality product, well assembled, comes with all the necessary fittings to connect to all vacuum lines. I would recommend pulling out the collector for…

Bargain!: Exhaust and Emissions

I would definitely recommend this to any owner of a high mileage 2003 Impreza Wrx who hasn't had their intake manifold replaced. I would recommend having an experienced Subaru mechanic do the installation. It's just not an easy install unless you remove the entire intake plenum. Be prepared to purchase all surrounding hoses and vacuum lines from a dealer. Everything becomes brittle and hard and will break when the old pipe is removed. After the installation is complete, it works beautifully. It

Prepare for battle

So I bought it knowing the Mishimoto name and quality but had never replaced this part before. If you've never done either, prepare to fight on both sides by taking out the old one and putting this back in. I managed without removing the intake manifold, it's possible. Lots of squeezing wobble to get it going on turbo. Here I'll give you two tips: 1. get a set of picks to fit the new intake hose to the turbo and 2. get some WD40 on the turbo to fit the intake hose. Be careful with the picks so…

Garbage. Not suitable for 2004 WRX.

I'm not a professional mechanic but I can work and I work a lot with my machines. Despite all the bad reviews of Mishimoto hoses, I figured this inlet pipe would be a win-win. After watching a video of Mishimoto's installation, I realized something was wrong. The video skips all the insanely tricky parts and doesn't mention that the end of the front hose is too long to fit in the airbox and the too large OD of the hose has to compete with both the power steering pressure line and the left TGV…
