Description of Monoprice Premium Printer Filament 1 75MM

Keep the nozzles and extruders on your 3D printer printing like new using this 1.75mm Cleaning Filament from Monoprice!. It is a good idea to periodically clean the nozzles and extruders on your 3D printer to ensure that they feed filament smoothly and evenly. It is also good to clean when switching filament colors or material types. This cleaning filament is designed to adhere to any stray material left in the nozzle and remove it along with the cleaning filament. To clean using this filament, simply print about 12" of material. It prints at a wide 160 ~ 260C temperature range.

Works well but needs to be hand fed

As many people say the filament is too small, very soft and uneven. Don't expect your machine to be able to feed it automatically. Cut off about 8-12 inches and hand push it through at a higher temperature than the filament used previously. It actually does a really good job when the nozzle isn't working optimally and you've already tried using a needle to clean the hole. Didn't have to do a cold pull/atomic pull to get great results. It is much easier!

  • 3D printing consumables

Complete garbage! Short and too soft to squeeze on the right side

Total bullshit! Undersized and too soft for proper extrusion. I usually like monovalent materials so I decided to give it a try but I struggled from the start. Even at temperatures of 200-260 ° C, it practically did not express. After fiddling around for a while, I pulled out my calipers and found that they were only about 1.6mm (+/- 0.05) in diameter, meaning the pinion gear couldn't provide a good grip. Also, it is very soft and tends to get stuck. This is worse than using flexible threads…

This has worked on AM products

By running my hot end a little higher than advertised I had some burnt ABS particles that accumulated and clogged one of my nozzles. I've tried everything, brushes, acupuncture needles, etc. and still nothing came out but a thin trickle before clogging again. Eventually I let this stuff through, trusting it wouldn't hurt, and amazingly it cleared all the dirt in no time. I had to download and unload the thread several times before it was completely clean, but it was fine. . I charged it and…
