High hopes for an affordable 3D printer, subpar results.

I bought this printer with high hopes of entering the world of 3D printing at a modest price. I had two of these printers within a week, the first one I received just printed a cat.gcode test file which to thank the printers printed very well. Every other file I uploaded to the memory stick after cutting the .stl files into the correct gcodes for the printer didn't move the actual printer as the status bar showed me "progress" that supposedly was made on my print. On two occasions it appeared…

Unbeatable for the price!

Couldn't be better for the price. The quality of the prints is amazing as is the build quality, I can't understand why the price is so low. Edit: I've encountered a few issues since purchasing it, so I've deducted a few stars. List them below: 1. Since the portal is only supported on one side, it will sag to the right over time. Without support, the gantry sags so much that the right side of the build plate needs to be fully tightened to be level. This was fixed by purchasing a 6mm rod and…

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance

  • Doubtful

I'm new to 3D printing and didn't want to spend a lot of money on my first printer. I wasn't expecting much from the printer so my expectations weren't high. I've watched as many YouTube videos on how to set up the printer as I can. As soon as I got the printer I flashed the screen and rom and also changed the settings to match the video. I didn't use the filament that came with the printer as there was very little of it. I bought some Inland PLA filament here at Revain and downloaded this one…
