Description of MOOG Chassis Products K6654 Pitman

Problem Solver powdered metal gusher bearing design enables grease to flow through the bearing to the stud for reduced friction and enhanced strength and stability. Moog engineered steel composition results in a stronger component. Greaseable socket design allows new lubricant to flush contaminants from the assembly, reducing corrosion and wear. Loose or worn chassis parts can lead to premature tire wear.

It was a "4-Flat " I needed a "3-Flat " but great quality part

The part didn't fit what my truck needed (2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd ), but it was obviously excellent quality and would have been great to have on my truck along with all the other Moog parts I bought for the front end restoration. Unfortunately I had to buy an inferior replacement locally and at great expense to get my truck back on the road for work. The seller issued a refund with no issues.

Much better than stock.

My 1500HD failed inspection due to bipod and track arm wear. The store charged $450 for a replacement. I ended up going to Revain and bought the crank, cocking arm and cocking arm mount for a lot less. The swap took about 3 hours including removing the steering box as I couldn't remove the tie rod. I also installed a cognito kit to beef up all the steering. Wow, what's the difference, now the truck doesn't wander across the street anymore. I thought it was because of the crappy rubber I put on.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • New Competitors

fits my 2wd 6.0 lq4 with standard cab long bed 2004 2500hd had to literally cut the old lever off. ARM OUT, THIS WILL DAMAGE THE STEERING GEAR and you cannot hit it hard enough to remove it. Remove the stabilizer, maybe add a sway bar kit for power suspension while it's off like me ;) then cut right through the bipod arm with a cutting wheel. I used a 4 inch Dewalt sander. Be sure to wear goggles and a coat it should be almost fall. Be sure to push the connecting rod out of the center link…

Pros
  • very impressive

  • boring package

Excellent replacement parts from MOOG

Quality part, no counterfeit. If you plan on replacing this one yourself, be prepared to spend some time, the old one won't budge. Make sure you have a sturdy puller, a serious tension rod, and some time. So if you need to replace this, spray it with penetrating oil immediately. No WD40, but a good penetrating oil. I'm waiting for you to do it This is one of the trickiest parts I've shot out of various cars and I always want to get out my flashlight and turn it off. So be careful, use…

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Very expensive

2007 Classic 2500HD Crew 4x4

After 168,000 on my 2007 Classic 2500HD 4x4 Crew, my pitman and idler were too loose to line up. I decided to replace the inner/outer links and upper/lower ball joints at the same time, all Moog. Pitman/Idler/tierods took about 3 hours and I had no experience with it. There is a crossbar that prevented me from attaching the Autozone puller, but I found a much simpler solution. Take a small angle grinder (I used a grinder with a cut-off wheel) and cut down to 1/8" from the slot, this took about…

Pros
  • Superb Construction
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

A few tips for replacing a bipod on a GM

I am pleased with the fit and finish of the Moog part but time will tell. I mainly make OEM parts and am very picky about parts in general. Anyway, thought I'd give some advice to those who are installing this pitman arm on GM vehicles. I remove the skid plate and anti-roll bar (good time to check/replace bushings while you're there). So you have enough space to work. The problem with replacing the bipod is that GM trucks and SUVs have a crossbar that prevents the use of a standard bipod…

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • A few mistakes
