The best there is. the best of ball joints

There's nothing to dispute. I ordered a Detroit brand axle with shock absorbers for my Dodge Ram 06 2wd and the ball joints broke when I tried to push them in. Read that this was the answer to avoid frontend problems and it was great. Went up perfectly with no problems.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Difficult to say

Wellies - Garbage

Both ball joints lick grease around the boots. After 3-4 squeezes of the lubricator it was sprayed everywhere. For a premium ball joint, that's rubbish and I wouldn't buy it again. I would send them back if I could keep the car for another week. I doubt I'll ever benefit from it, and I hope Moog comes up with something quick about this disaster. Maybe I'll find another brand next time.

Fits perfectly. For me

Bought these for my 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. Fits perfectly. For me the difference in handling and ride quality is minor, but mine was fine initially. HOWEVER got rid of all the squeaks, creaks and groans of the font hanger. Factory ball joints are not lubricated (it's possible!). Removing the old one is a big hassle, but installing it was pretty easy. Alignment is imperative after installation - my truck ran great and straight but still needed alignment after installation (confirmed by specs from…

No boots with ball joints

Installed these at my local shop and he informed me these bottom ball joints didn't come with rubber dust covers and had to use the old ones. This is unacceptable. I paid for what is shown in the photo. Such work does not come cheap. I didn't look in the box before driving my truck into the store. I just assumed everything was there. I don't think I should rely on Revane. Or anyone for that matter. Luckily the anthers didn't come loose from my old ball joints. Update: A month later my old…

Great for 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 2WD

Great for '03 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 2WD. Has a grease fitting which is great. The hardest part was removing the knuckle from the old ball joint (use a 5lb sledgehammer and hit the knuckle to "shock/shake" the old one). Pickle forks were useless. I used the Astro 7897 kit to remove the old one and install this one, but I had to make the following mod to get the old ball joint out. The 03 DR 1500 has almost no clearance at the bottom ball joint stud, so you can't install the shell without it rising…

Perfect fit for Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 3.7L

You need a ball joint press. So if you don't have one, rent one from The Zone or your favorite auto parts supplier. Hollow out the retaining ring first, then use a ball joint press to remove the ball joint by pressing down. It will be a very slow and painful process, but eventually they will weaken. The Moog ball joints are splined to ensure proper engagement with the forearm. When installing, ensure that the dust boot drain opening faces the engine. This prevents your catastrophic death from…

BOOTS are a JOKE! - Replacement parts

As with some other reviews, my boots are falling off, pre-assembly. While Moog usually makes very good parts, they left out the "ball joint" on this one. There appears to be a small lip on the top wellie and that's all it's supposed to hold on to. Obviously not working. For those of you who didn't experience this before or during the install, I would look there. In humans, this was when adding lubricant. Even though such offensive lubrication adds to the torture, it's obvious that they need…
