New design without dust cover

Don't be surprised if it comes without a rubber dust cover, it's a new design from Moog. I wish I knew I was panicking after taking the ball joint. but a few quick calls calmed me down. They came with a very small rubber cap, which you'll see almost as if it didn't have any at all.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Some problems

Quality replacement for bearing

nut 27 mm? I just installed it two days ago. Not having the usual dust cover, they look a bit odd - there's bare metal in the gap. At first I thought it wasn't fully seated even though I tightened the castle nut to spec. Let's get back to the 27mm nut. I didn't have such a big outlet. I didn't know it needed such a big one. I was lucky to have another car and cargo port nearby so I could pick it up. I want you to emphasize that fact. In any case, they make a high-quality impression. I had a…

One piece trunk design, not as good as original design

I installed newer ball joints in my 2002 Ford Explorer Sport Trac RWD. After 7 months, the one-piece trunk broke on the front right. Another had a poorly tapped hole for a mirror fitting to add lubrication. The grease nipple snapped at the very beginning and is no longer screwed in. I had to add sealant around the threads. I removed both lower arms to replace the bushings and found that these revised ball joints already had a lot of unacceptable play. DO NOT ORDER THESE BALL JOINTS FROM "AXIS…

Fits my 99 Ranger XLT 4x4 Offroad Super Cab 4

Fits my 99 Ranger XLT 4x4 Offroad Super Cab 4.0L with torsion bars. I will come back to this review if I run into any problems in the future. A tip: you'll need a special ball joint press cup with a window cut-out in it to get the old ones out. Otherwise there will not be enough space between the end of the wishbone and the ball joint to mount a traditional receiver cup. Alternatively, soak them in penetrating oil and knock them out with a 4-pound hammer. It takes about 8 good hits to get them…

  • Sleek design

Works great for me

Fits my 2002 F150 2WD with no problem. This ball joint looks a bit odd with a little rubber boot, but it does what it's supposed to do. Installation was easy, like any other lower ball joint. This has a Zerk fitting that you will need to install and make sure to add some lube before using. They have some lube but not enough for long term use. Also make sure you oil them regularly to keep them full and they should last the life of the car. A small problem is that one of my two sets did not have…

Cup for Victory. Good value item

I wish I had them to begin with! It would have saved me quite a bit of money and time instead of messing around with Motorcraft. At first I thought I would replace everything with Motorcraft because I'm very picky about what happens on my cars, but after destroying two MC ball joints I tried Moog and what a difference! The edge of the Motorcraft is twice as thin as theirs, which greatly simplifies installation and eliminates the possibility of breaking it with a press. I thought I was doing…

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • I won't say anything

bought or rented): Properly sized axle nut, universal ball joint cage, heavy duty ball joint press and disassembly tool kit, pliers with Dremel/cutting wheel, ball joint without Cage A few minutes with a loud click when finally released! I couldn't get the ball joint out of the forearm with a sled. Tried a 5lb joint and had to use a press. Getting tighter and tighter, and finally he started moving from place. Installing a new ball joint was a breeze with the press. Oh, it's just a pity that I…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I bought a pair of these Lower Ball Joints for a 2000 Ford F-150 Pickup Truck with 150,000 miles. The OEM hinges were sealed and unusable, but after all these years and miles the boots have torn and peeled and any grease in the hinge has dried to the consistency of wax. The old connections had at least 1/8 inch play. These new Moog ball joints fit perfectly and streamlined my front end nicely. I like that these replacement joints can be lubricated and that should offer longer life (assuming you
