I bought an older Ford truck with a locking gas cap. I hate those gas caps because they fail from time to time. I figured I'd go ahead and replace it with a Motorcraft OEM part. I accidentally found it here at Revain, bought it and installed it. It fits perfectly and now I don't have to worry about when the gas tank cap will let me down.

This cap has completely turned my gas off. I screwed it on, it was tight and the gas couldn't get out. No force field technology is used to achieve this tightness, instead a rubber gasket is used. I lose my gas cap an average of 3 times a year and the tether fixed that problem. I installed this in a 1992 Ford E350 ambulance and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Take it? I said doctor because it's an ambulance!

Fits 2004 Ford Taurus SEL. This part works perfectly. I know it works great because the gas cap light and amber check engine light were on when I installed it. Brand new in box but not the one on my car. I asked a question about a week ago but it went unanswered. My cap is held in place by a valve mounted just below the top of the filler neck. It's shaped like a horseshoe around the filler neck, and the gas cap swings back slightly to let a gas pump gun through.
