Do not buy this car. I am completely blown away that this product can somehow get a 4 star rating. The first espresso machine I encountered didn't work at all. I have a few reservations about extending the life of this machine: 1. I was replacing 3 ECMP50 coffee makers until I watched a few YouTube videos and figured out what DESCALING involves , and thought I'd add a few words to those below. Great car for the price. The steam hand really works on this generation. A few notes: 1. Remove and discard the rubber/plastic piece on the steam nozzle. 2. Load the steam line; a good stream of water comes out first; You don't want it in your milk!. 3. Turn on the group head for a few seconds - twice; If you don't do this, some cold water will get into your coffee. 4. After you've finished brewing and removed the portafilter, rinse the group head by simply pumping it for a few seconds - twice.
