Excellent Video Switch

Unlike cheaper switches, this one switches instantly with no issues. It also produces split screen and PiP for 2 inputs. I'm using this to switch two camcorders to one HDMI recorder for realtime editing with a 9" HD monitor. Note, however, that you must select the correct input format from the input menu. The quick menu buttons are located on the front of the device.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Minor issues

All in all what I expected

Ready to use All I had to do was plug in the power, connect the HDMI cables and change the channel to the appropriate input. I use 4 cameras so I have 4 split screens. One of the screens is smaller than the others, but that might be a camera setup I need to look at. The delay is half a second, but that may be because I'm putting the cameras through the splitters before they reach the screen. Multiviewer 4 in 1. Looks good so far!

2x1 version Ideal for PiP

I bought this box (HD-201P) because I wanted to see my front door security camera (via HDMI player) while still watching TV. This block works absolutely perfectly for that. I'm glad I did NOT get a 4-sided multi-view version for this purpose, although it had more inputs and isn't more expensive - it's just not the same as PiP. Pros: - PiP has several handy layout options including screen angle and 3 different size options. Also supports side-by-side modes and weird stretch modes, but you won't…

Bad for gaming in audio and video accessories

This device adds about 32ms of visual lag/latency to my setup which is the deciding factor for me. off" so I tested it with a Time Sleuth tester. If I connect my latency tester directly to the monitor I see a 3ms latency, and if I then connect an HDMI switch to my monitor and then a latency tester plug in the switch (and disable PIP/Multiview) the latency increases to 35ms..If you are watching TV or a movie it probably isn't that noticeable. If you are using a computer it can be a little…

Super HDMI Switch

Great Product! Works pretty well for the most part. Actually, I am extremely satisfied in every respect, except for the sound. I cut the cable and my setup consists of an ASUS monitor (which I like), a VIEW-TV At-263 tuner (which works really well), a Yamaha ATS 1080 soundbar (which I like) with HDMI and HDMI. ARC ports, OREI switch, external HD antenna and ROKU+ streaming stick. When switching between the antenna and the ROKU, the audio sometimes cuts out until I select HDMI on the Yamaha…

It could have been so much more without the remote control!

The overall quality of the device is good, it feels solid and gives a pretty good picture. However, the remote control left a lot to be desired. This is one of the cheapest remotes out there and doesn't have the features that would make using a switch efficient. The remote doesn't let you select the input individually, so you're forced to use the button on the switch itself, which also means you have to cycle through all the channels to get to the channel you want. It was a pain because I only…

Simple and efficient

Multi-channel split screen is great! I mainly use it for sports purposes to be able to watch a few games but this year it was also useful for seeing election day/week coverage. I have multiple Tivo Minis, so it's easy for me to set up multiple channels and/or recorded shows and place them on the right part of the screen. I have found that in the vast majority of cases I only use two modes. It's either a 4-way split with a screen in each corner in the normal aspect ratio, or a 4-way split with a

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Not the best

I've only had it a few weeks and prefer to use electronics for at least a few months before starting a review, but I'll come back and edit if I don't get anything right. The images provided in this listing (as of 02/23/2021) are incorrect and do not show the HD-401MR. Half of these are recordings from the newer HD-401MV. The MR has NO VGA output and has much simpler and less versatile controls. You can see the model number in the photos directly on the device, so I'm pretty sure someone who…

Confusing controls but works

This device is a good example of great functionality but the user interface could be better. I'll talk about the general synopsis and the different modes. Let's start with the good: - Unit is small, metal, well made - Remote is easy to use - Great for watching multiple videos or a single video source and desktop source - Very low lag - No frame loss as far as I know (video streaming) - Switching is almost instantaneous - Multiple modes/layouts - The remote covers all the features and some…
