Description of Multimeter Auto Ranging Multimeters Electrical Resistance

👍4000 counts and multifunction: HANMATEK S1 Digital Multimeter has 4000 display counts and measures AC / DC voltage and current, diode, resistance, frequency, peak on / off, NCV non-contact voltage detection, wire discrimination live, auto range. 👍NC&NCV Measurement: If an AC voltage is detected, the NCV LED will blink continuously and the buzzer will sound synchronously. The closer the distance is to the electric field, the faster the flashing frequency of the light emitting tube and the sound frequency of the buzzer. Depending on the intensity of the electric field, the LCD screen changes from ’’ - ’’ to ‘’ ---- ’’. Non-contact voltage detector. 👍Measuring Safety: HANMATEK S1 Digital Multimeter meets the safety standards of 600V CAT II and pollution degree 2 of IEC61010, giving you more safety on the job.Big LCD display with backlight and perfect and easy to use household tools for the laboratory, factories and radio enthusiasts. 👍Portable Design: There is a rear bracket to support the multimeter, and you can also collect the test probe for your convenience. With data hold and auto power off function, low power consumption. 👍Package includes: HANMATEK S1 Digital Multimeter, 3 * 1.5V AAA battery, test leads, user manual, 24 months warranty. Please buy it with complete peace of mind.

useful tool: multi tester

I bought this multimeter to test if the water heater thermocouple is working. My water heater's pilot light would not stay on. It is very likely that the thermocouple has failed. But I had to be sure. So I used this voltage tester. When I lit the pilot and held it down I checked the thermocouple voltage and it showed 1mV which was not good. A voltage of 20 mV is required for operation. After replacing the thermocouple I checked again and now the reading was 20mV. Thanks to the help of this…

Pros
  • top marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • no instructions

Great value for money, some "hidden " features

When I first tried it I thought the test probe surface area was WAY small. You can remove the plastic protective cover from the "test" end of both probes, but this will take some effort. This exposes much more of the test probe's metal surface, making it much more comfortable to use. However, it is not clear that the plastic protective covers are removable and it is not mentioned in the small folding instructions that come with the product. I couldn't get the "NCV" feature to tell me anything…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Frequency

Very good but not perfect

These cheap little Chinese tools are a great, cheap but decent quality alternative to overpriced Fluke test tools. Their accuracy exceeds published specifications for most functions and they work as described in the listings. They use two inexpensive AAA batteries instead of the more expensive 9V batteries used in most other cheap DMMs, and their build quality is solid. The only downside I've found to using these gauges for home electrical work is that they will "falsely trip" new ARC fault…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Has a number of significant flaws

Generally a good counter, BUT there are disadvantages: 1. A fully automatic design (no rotary switch) can confuse resistance and voltage in at least some circuits (sorry, I can don't remember the type of circuitry). This would not be the case with the rotating volt and ampere scales and the auto range of these scales. If you have a 1 ohm current sense resistor and try to measure the voltage across it, the meter will give a (not necessarily correct) reading for a short time and then turn off…

Pros
  • Suits me
Cons
  • I don't remember

Great value for the money

This is a really great little multimeter. I bought it as a backup for a larger and much more expensive multimeter I have. I think my old gauge is going to collect dust. This is a true auto-ranging meter, unlike my other auto-ranging meter. Note that there is no dial to select AC, DC, resistance, or amperage. Turn on this baby and it's ready to measure anything. The ohms function automatically switches to a continuity test when a low resistance is measured, accompanied by an audible beep. It has

Pros
  • Nice packaging

  • So-so
