When it comes to railings, size matters

Wrong size, be sure to read the size you need. Ridiculous price. By fraternal right I made one out of a whistle as we couldn't get another in time for the project.

Pros
  • Handy piece
Cons
  • I can't remember

Poor quality tool: Building materials

This tool is poorly made. Steel grade is too low. Must be stronger for the tool to properly engage the part and remain locked during and during installation. I had to cut my tool multiple times throughout the project to get a clean end that would snap onto the part. I needed two tools to complete my project. Expensive disposable tool! Muzata really needs to rethink/rework that.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Poor repairability

The job was finally done

But man, they could have used stronger material and/or experimented with other shapes - deeper lugs for hooking. If you apply a generous amount of lube (wax paste in my case) you stand a much better chance of getting things moving without slipping. As long as it holds (without deformation) it is very uncomfortable to work with. I found that using a vice grips until an invisible cable bolt enters the wood, and then using this tool worked best.

Good tool but the end slides apart too easily

Great concept and works quite well initially. However, over time, the keyhole expands and then begins to slip. We halved ours to get to less scattered sections and barely made it through our project which consisted of 3 separate sections of 10 cables each. The arms do not provide sufficient leverage, so extensions are required in most cases. We tightened with adjustable socket wrenches until the fastener was nearly flush and finished with this tool to keep the tool from wearing out.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel

Muzata handrail wrench

This tool is scrap. I used it to tighten a cable and the end of the tool stretched and didn't work. It's cheaply made. The handles are not well thought out. They are welded to the back of the tool instead of both sides for balanced turning. The "tool" is made out of cheap, malleable steel, not strong "tool" steel. By simply driving screws into ordinary jaws, the tool bends and the canal opens up and is completely non-functional. Wouldn't recommend it. I will design and make my own well working…

I would give -5 if it was a choice!

I think I should have read more reviews before ordering this piece of junk! I didn't even have time to insert my first cable connector halfway before the end of this tool stretched! I spent heaps of time making my own 4 x 4 birch posts and then drilled a 10mm hole as directed. Began installing the connector when this "tool" flared its end and slipped off the connector! Luckily I used the "test pattern" or I'd be even angrier than I am! Please read these many comments about how crappy this tool…

Pros
  • Beautifully packaged
Cons
  • Ribbon

This is a simple tool, overpriced for materials and quality, but essential when using Muzata concealed cable glands. Other reviews complain about the tool end flaring with use. It would have been helpful if there were tips for users, but that didn't happen. This approach worked for me (and I avoided flaring since I ran 21 wires (it took 24 tries to get 21 right): 1. Attach the assembled fitting to the face of the bar and check the Reach of the fitting Once you have attached the fitting to the…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Good but not great
