This thing worked great initially, but after a week of use.

The thing worked great at first but after a week of use the thing let me down, the camera just went off and I missed all these cool shots with my kid fiddling with it, I tightened, but notices that there is still a lot of play that can very easily disconnect the cable connectors from the inside of the battery compartment and when that happens the camera just turns off, you have to squeeze the battery and camera together to turn it back on , I had to return it. I wanted it to work because I…

Great buy, best in Camera & Photo category

This battery grip for my Canon Rebel T3I works great. It can be used horizontally and vertically. When I use it vertically, the buttons and controls on it work great, leaving your hands on the camera where they should be rather than having to find the shutter button on the camera itself. Thanks to the double battery compartment, the batteries last much longer before they need to be replaced. And the small cover that covers the original battery compartment is stored in the battery grip, so it…

Bought Neewer Grip for the first time, great job!

I use it on a Canon T5i and just bought a used one. I have another T5i that I bought a few years ago that had a more expensive (non-Canon) battery grip and was hoping this Neewer grip would be at least as good. This Neewer grip is excellent. I never use the secondary camera controls on the grip, just checked them out and they work as expected. I now use this grip primarily on both of my T5i models to extend battery life and be able to change batteries quickly. I use a large Monfrotto quick…

A great budget option for light to medium users.

If you are planning a trip to the top of Everest or a safari in Africa, make a documentary. If you're into extreme sports or stranded on a volcano that might erupt soon, then this battery grip isn't for you. But if you're like me and most of your movies/photos take place in a quiet environment. or simply indoors and safely in a controlled situation. Then it will be perfect. The plastic is cheap, it doesn't look like something that costs $200 or so. It's like the price you pay. But as they say…

Works but quite cumbersome

I've been using this on my Canon DSLR for about a week now. My main reason for buying this is the vertical trigger. The device is easy to install and appears to be of very good quality for the price. The soft-touch plastic feels nicer than the camera body, but the hard plastic is a bit shiny and doesn't match the camera body at all. It's not a big deal for me, but it might be for some others. All functions worked with the camera, so there were no problems with that. The only issue I've had is…

More than just a battery replacement

I bought this because I didn't want to worry about a dead battery, especially when I'm traveling for photography or short film. I had to play around with it because I found it was more than just a battery replacement. Firstly, not only can you put two batteries in the slot, but they also send you another slot for AA batteries. To ensure you don't lose the original tab that covers your camera's battery, Neewer designed this product with a small storage compartment so it never gets lost. I can…

A good product! for camera and photo

I love this external battery grip for my Canon Rebel T3i. That works great. My camera is definitely easier to handle with the extra grip on the bottom, especially for portrait/portrait photos. Weighs quite a bit, the only extra weight is 2 batteries, not the ones you normally use in the camera itself. Be sure to carefully remove the door from your camera's battery compartment. 30-45 degree angle to remove it successfully. Be sure to gently turn the small door switch on the battery handle to…

  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

That perception can be useful for marketing

Call me lazy, but while the battery grip can be used for specific camera functions like focusing, I only used it for its primary purpose of providing extra power. I've been using my battery grip with Canon and Power Extra batteries for 2 years and I'm very impressed. I can take over 700 photos at an event without changing camera batteries. I'm using a Canon Rebel T3i, which looks very small without the extra accessories. However, when I add the battery grip, I am told that the camera looks more
