Excellent goods! for computers and accessories

Bought to connect an old large format laser printer to a wireless network. My WiFi uses a Netgear Orbi13 setup with a satellite device. All that is required to launch the network manager application is the IP address of the connected device. Pairing takes about five minutes as the indicator LEDs on the adapter cycle from off to red, amber, and finally green. When all three LEDs on the adapter are green, the network is reestablished and the device is ready for use. The data rate for my use is…

Worked but then had a very nasty crash

Worked but then had a very nasty crash. I bought this a few years ago to connect a sprinkler controller that only had an ethernet port. During this time I did a good job. A week ago I had random dives where I couldn't connect to the network. After much research I narrowed down the problem to this adapter. Devices that were successful received IP addresses on the wrong subnet. I checked my router's DHCP settings and made sure it wasn't supposed to be giving out the wrong subnet. Long story…

Pros
  • Great for a small home

  • So far so good

Works well with digital cellular hotspot.

Works well with digital cellular hotspot. I've been using this device with a SharkRF digital radio RF hotspot for the past few weeks and it works well. I ran this device and SharkRF on USB battery. Everything fits into a transparent plastic carrying case for on the go. This device is very compact. The only thing I would like is the ability to save multiple WiFi profiles and automatically switch between them depending on which SSID is in range. When I use the device at home, I set it up with my…

Worked great for 7 months and then.

After 7 months, WNCE2001 completely disconnected from my router. I've been trying to fix the error for about an hour. No luck, the WiFi light didn't come on or connect no matter what I tried. No big deal, figured I'd call Netgear support and get an RMA. That's when the real problems started. Netgear's warranty policy is the worst I've ever dealt with. Their wireless products come with a 1-year warranty, but you'll have to pay for it to diagnose faulty hardware if it's been more than 90 days…

Works well with some limitations

Easy setup for this wireless ethernet bridge. Signal strength/reception appears to be acceptable. Only used for 2 weeks so I can't comment on durability. The directions are cryptic. I couldn't and didn't want to use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). Therefore I cannot comment on this aspect. If you are not using WPS, the first time you connect the Netgear Bridge device to your computer, you must point your browser to the Netgear Bridge server address for additional settings. This redirect happened…

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Too long to wait

It's good when it works.

This device gets 5 stars from me for the four months it has actually worked. Setup was very easy and it provided a great signal. I used it in my DVR security system so reliability is paramount. Then suddenly I couldn't access my cameras anymore. When I checked, the power indicator on this unit was blinking. After scouring the web, I found that a blinking power light is practically a death sentence for this device, meaning the firmware is corrupted (by itself). The real test is that it doesn't…

Two hundred dollars - what the hell are you kidding!

Love this machine if priced accordingly. It used to be marketed as a VERY cheap device to get older (non-wifi) devices on a wifi network - yeah kids, we didn't have wifi back then. I have several hardwired networking devices that, frankly, are just as useful to me today as they were when I got started ten or twenty years ago. If I remember correctly, I paid less than twenty dollars for my first device. I just checked my Revain orders and the price I paid ranges from $23.00 to $89.00 - which I…
