I have a filament in my 50 gallon aquarium. So when I needed a heater for my quarantine tank I thought I'd buy another one, just a smaller one. The heating aspect works well, it maintains the right temperature, never had a problem. The problem is that the light illuminating the temperature is so bright that at night this little quarantine tank looks like it's lit during the day. Which is not good for fish.

Do not buy this product. I had it in the swamp for my marine aquarium. The line fried and killed 14 bubble anemones, 1 male percula clownfish, 1 six-striped wrasse, 1 coral angel beauty, numerous snails and the cleaning team. This heater cost me about $600 cattle. I have heaters that have worked for years and when they fail they just stop working. If you want everything to die be my guest and save a few bucks upfront. You will regret it at some point.

I was hesitant to buy this due to some bad reviews. It always takes 24 hours for the tank temperature to stabilize. This 50 watt heater has been in my aquarium for 6 months. The digital temperature display is a little bright, but I like just checking it a few times a day to make sure everything's okay. The smaller size keeps it in the background and not as noticeable. I ordered this heater as Nicrew brand lamps are really good value for their money I decided to give it a try. The heating immediately started behaving strangely. In seconds it heated my tank up to the set temperature and then exceeded it by several degrees. I don't think he could warm up that quickly. It kept turning on and off due to overheating, even though the aquarium temperature measured with an aquarium thermometer was lower than what I set. He just kept jumping, so I found a replacement.
