Description of ⚡️ Klein Tools NCVT-3 Voltage Tester: Dual Range Non-Contact Pen with AC Testing & Built-in Flashlight

Voltage tester provides non-contact detection of AC voltage. Volt pen detects 12 to 1000V AC with simultaneous visual and audible voltage indicators. Bright flashlight illuminates work area and may be used independent of voltage detection function. Visual LED bar graph indicates the presence of voltage - the higher the voltage sensed, or the closer to the voltage source, the more LEDs light up. Bar graph visual voltage indicator utilizes up to five vibrant LEDs for easy interpretation/viewing.

Works well - Electrical

I like the progressive LED display from low to high voltage and the beeper comes in handy when you can't get a clear picture from the LED display. The built-in flashlight is a plus and the device feels solid. I've already dropped it about 5 feet onto concrete with no damage. Although it can distinguish between the hot and neutral sides of an outlet, it does not replace a plug tester in an outlet to indicate messed up wires, missing grounds, etc. This was helpful to me in identifying live and…

Too sensitive. fits voltage tester

Update: I've had a chance to test it and it's back to Revain. With a standard USB cable, it signals EXACTLY the same as a 110V outlet. In fact, it signals a 5-foot stretch of wire that isn't connected to anything. ================== The block I received is too delicate. When I turn it on in the middle of the room after a normal start, it starts beeping and shows 2 solid LEDs (amber). When I run my finger over the sensor area, it stops beeping and the LEDs turn off. When I put it into the hot…

Swiss Army Knife of Voltage Detectors

Half-price basic testers are much easier for basic voltage identification and troubleshooting. This sophisticated and flexible tester is much more sensitive than simple testers and can confuse even the novice user. But for advanced users, it can track and find breaks in any cable run - from a USB power source. , to the doorbell system, to the LED light, down to the wires going in and out of the circuit breaker panel. just be a ticket. Also useful when you need to add new sockets or switches to…

Best features of the previous two models

As a homework assignment I thought I knew enough about tools to be familiar with most basic basic tools. I literally just became aware of the existence of this type of device after reading a particularly well-written guide to setting up a wall switch. For years I used one of those little plug in polarity/GFI testers whenever I plugged in an outlet to make sure it was correct. The same tester also gives me confidence that I didn't forget to turn off the circuit breaker. But with wall switches…

Good product; but don't drop it

Hey guys, I had three Klein Tools IP67 voltage testers. I liked the accuracy and sensitivity that helped me reliably and safely identify conductors. This has been my go-to tester for years and the amount of light it puts out is outstanding. The beep is loud enough to work with live electrical equipment and the voltage display, which doubles as a battery indicator, is very useful. Now my problem: drop it and that's it! My very first IP67 testers I bought years ago, maybe when they first came out

Pros
  • Great for me
