Security is an issue. Spend a little more for stainless steel

I love it (d) and have been using it for about 10 years? It's been great until today. The plastic handle has warped a bit over time without my knowledge. It fell apart not once, but twice when I was making the spaetzle, causing the boiling water to splatter all over the place. Potentially dangerous situation. It goes in the trash can and I'm looking for one that's all stainless steel.

worth it for the kitchen and dining area

I am a curmudgeon and have tried all the ways to make spaetzle without any of these methods and all the alternative methods are a mess, they take forever and it's frustrating how all come out. I'm a little mad at myself for not buying it sooner. It makes the whole process a million times easier. We're talking about 5 minutes instead of 30 and no mess. I also really like that it hugs the rim of the pot so it doesn't fly anywhere. As a sausage I prepared a spaetzle with mushrooms and shallots.

I bought this spaetzle maker in the hope that it would be my first time making spaetzle. Everything went well and I had a good time rolling the car back and forth and the tiny sand doughs fell out as advertised. I had to add water to the dough to make it soft enough to fall. About 3/4 of the way through, the plastic handle melted and the remaining batter fell into the boiling water in one big lump. Not funny. I'm sending them back. Plastic just can't take the heat. It's really hard for you not…

I was skeptical. so happy i got it.

I'm so happy I bought this. I will no longer have any doubts about the preparation of spaetzle. It was very easy to use. The package I received had the prescription on it. I followed this up to compare it with my previous spaetzle attempts. He was overweight. I added more soy milk and water (my son can't have milk so maybe due to the lack of lactic acid in natural milk) until it was thick but pliable. With the right consistency, it works great. The weight of the noodles/dumplings along with the

Goes well with German food

Okay, the dough goes anywhere, but it makes small homemade noodles great compared to packaged products. If you want flatter noodles, this isn't your kitchen tool. Overall I am very happy with the product as I can whip the dough and have it ready in fifteen minutes. Nothing beats freshly prepared. You can also make long noodles or pea-sized noodles, depending on how long it takes you to slide over the cutter. Clean the tool or at least dip it in water right away so the dough doesn't harden in…

Not impressed with pasta machines and accessories

Not. Simply not. This Norporo spaetzle maker was a replacement for the old Norpro - it was replaced because the handle no longer fitted the rails snugly and cooking with it became a real hazard. Against common sense I ordered it again. Today I made some spaetzle in preparation for the party. At the third installment the handle moved, at the sixth and final installment I had to tie a white plastic handle to the metal bars with a rubber band. After cooking I washed my hands and tried to put the…

Easiest to use of all the styles I've tried

Sometimes I tend to experiment when trying something new and when I decided to make spaetzle I turned it into something of a project. I watched a few YouTube videos to get a rough idea of what the dough should look like (short answer: liquid is better) and the many different tools you can use to make pasta of different shapes and sizes. There is no "official" size or shape for pasta, one of the videos I particularly enjoyed was of a woman cutting raw dough into boiling water with a knife. found

LIGHT spaetzle; Why did I wait so long to try this?!

I've enjoyed the Spaetzle a few times in Leavenworth, WA. It's a quaint little tourist trap town that looks like a Bavarian village. They spent a lot of time working on their authenticity. We live about 50 miles from here and have been there several times over the years and the dish I'm addicted to is spaetzle, especially kesze spaetzle. Käsespätzle are gratinated spaetzle with Emmental cheese and caramelized onions. Oh yeah. Mostly German macaroni and cheese. It is very good. GENERALLY I…
