hit on who on Power & Hand Tools

Compared to the snap-on I lost it's perfect and the price can't be beat! It's well done, good enough for a diesel technician with 16 years of experience.

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Folds freely but tightly

After one use, the head swings freely, I tried tightening the screw, it didn't help. otherwise it still works as it should. I made a serious effort and the gears held.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Some minor things

This should be the only branded ratchet everyone should own

I've noticed that other reviews have complained about the direction lever being difficult to move, but I've found that a little lubrication helps. It's not even hard to switch. Because of this, I hesitated to buy it and I shouldn't have. This is a very good and powerful ratchet. It's easy to open. I find the T10 screws to be quite large and have good clearance in my T10 screwdriver. I may have to replace them soon. I would recommend against high tooth, badly made shit.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No automatic

Good, but don't overdo it!

Works well and has on/off markings. Looks solid for the most part. The only problem I can foresee is that with too much torque the head will break, so keep it simple, don't try something crazy like lug nuts that can break.

Pros
  • Fully repairable head with parts available
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Durable and efficient.

Perfect for the job I bought it for. A recent fire took away most of my tools. So I'm replacing items I've used a lot in the past. Insurance covered about a third and reimburses me every time I replace a lost item. It proved to be a reliable tool and a good deal. Being a retired mechanic, the tools I buy to replace those lost in the fire don't have to be expensive branded items that I previously owned. But it could cope with these tasks.

Pros
  • Reverse lever allows for forward and reverse movement with one hand
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Beastly Ratchet on sale, great buy

This 17" ratchet has 36 teeth and an 8 degree angle. It has a subtle non-reflective satin nickel finish. The handle has detailed knurling for greasy hands. This pro ratchet has NO quick release (okay, makes the ratchet stronger) and has a closed 1/8" backplate (okay, the anvil doesn't bend or skip teeth). I opened up the ratchet (Torx 15) and it had a lot of grease in it. I cleaned it to dry and then re-lubricated it with Super Lube. If the number of teeth is larger, use oil or even silicone…

Pros
  • Sealed to keep dirt and debris out of your head
Cons
  • Great Price
