Maybe my first bad review

Broke on first use (actually second cap). waste cast. Decent design. The job consisted of the A dana 44 front axle universal joint on a Rubicon Jeep '08. Not very tight either. I had no problems with my old clamping tool. The OEM wants the customer to pay for shipping. The warranty card says 1 year warranty (I had it for a few months) and the box says limited life. No better than the tool worked and no better than it was built is all I can do to cut my losses. Maybe mine just broke but after…

Worked with 30 year old universal joints

Worked well with 30 year old rusty universal joints. As another reviewer mentioned, tighten it with a punch or ratchet and when you feel it hit the ground (or the kick stops spinning), grab a mini sledgehammer and hit it a few times the shoulder of the gimbal yolk, and the cap should move forward. . Just be careful as the tool will usually fall off when you do this as the pressure is released. So make sure you don't drop it on anything important. own a cap and figure out how to tap it with…

Poor ground contact

The push and pull concept is great. The pulling worked fine. He got around the store and wasn't sloppy. The boost needs some work. Not enough surface area to put pressure on the joint. Pressing the bearings on worked well as the bottom of the arms are radiused. But when pressing on the joint, the radius reduces the contact area to two points. Because the metal wasn't as strong as the joint, the tool was damaged at the ends, again an inadequate contact point. My use case was to replace the…
