Bolts bend when struts are compressed Macpherson

2005 Macpherson Dakota front springs are too narrow for other superchargers. This is the only one I can find that does the job. But after compressing just one spring, the bolts were bent forever. I've read that other brands flatten after shrinking, but this one never did. As you can see from the photo, the nuts are loose but the bolts are still bent.

Pros
  • Heat treated jackbolt for added strength
Cons
  • Protection

Slowly but surely. Holds tools and equipment

This was the best spring compressor I have ever used. The seller poorly communicates that you cannot use percussion instruments on it - you yourself torment this work. The bolts/nuts are over 24mm long so I just used an adjustable wrench. It sounds terrible, but in practice it turned out to be simple and inspires confidence. It is also suitable for unusually shaped springs when other compressors are not suitable. When the springs are compressed, it creates the illusion that the bolts are…

Pros
  • Safety latches
Cons
  • Minor issues

Well done make sure it fits your application

This has some nice heavy duty U-bolts too. They fit on my thicker Audi Eiback coils. Overall it's well made for the price. You need space to use it. I ended up cannibalizing it just to use thicker bolts with a different compressor. I only used the U-bolts to clamp the spring to prevent the other compressor from potentially sliding down the slope. In this condition, this compressor did not fit the rear springs on my 2005-2007 Audi A6 models. I'm sure it will work where there is space. Be sure to

Pros
  • Forged Hook
Cons
  • Some Bugs
