Mom's storm blinds and they worked great! They're not overly complex so not much to look at but they seem durable, the velcro holds up well and I was even able to chain 2 together for the longest runs so I didn't have to buy different lengths. Will buy them again if they're still available if they ever rot - inevitably in the Florida sun.

I tried several things before getting them (e.g. zip ties which proved useless have proved). When I first planted jasmine over a decade ago, elastic garden tie was enough to secure the vines to the posts they were planted in. The vines are now well rooted and very dense on the underside. So I decided to get creative and use these adjustable straps. They hold up really well and because they are adjustable I can use them for any size cups or items that I need to carry in my bike basket and it keeps them from bouncing around.
