not compatible with Apple

This camera is NOT compatible with Apple's Photo Booth applications. You MUST download the OMAX software and sometimes you will get a warning about the software. Your software is good but without instructions.

Pros
  • USB microscopes
Cons
  • No form required

Great addition to a great microscope

This is a great addition to the microscope my kids got for Christmas. This allowed us as a family to enjoy close-ups of dozens of things (some of which are downright gross) on the big screen. Highly recommended

Cons
  • Unbelievable price

The supplied software works perfectly in UBUNTU

The camera, the adapter, the USB cable and the software work perfectly right out of the box. Exceeded my expectations for ease of use. You learn to anticipate mistakes. and wrestling. when installing new hardware/software on Ubuntu Linux. But not this time with the OMAX camera. The software even installs the icon on the desktop itself after unpacking instead of hiding the command line in some gawdforsaken /usr/bin/obscurity.

Superior Microscope Camera USB 3

For the price, this microscope camera is unbeatable. The USB 3.0 interface enables higher video frame rates, which I think is an absolute requirement. The resolution (5 megapixels) is more than sufficient for brief microscopy. The slightly larger pixel size compared to the 9MP OMAX 9 results in a slightly wider dynamic range and slightly less noise. The supplied software facilitates the operation of the camera. I am viewing live images on an old Win XP computer designed for an old Nikon…

Great Microscope Camera

Very good well built little camera. The software is intuitive and easy to use, giving you complete control over color, contrast, etc. I use it on both biological and stereoscopes and get great results - great images. -res photos without too large files. Of course you can choose the file type for the shots and even the compression rate for the JPG. The lowest JPG compression ratio doesn't produce any noticeable compression artifacts, and even the most demanding of us should be happy with the…
