Not for reptiles and amphibians

These lamps had to be returned along with the lamp they were purchased with. The fires continued to burn for several minutes. I bought them for my turtle tank and unfortunately they didn't burn and blow. I'm not sure what's wrong with them. I was sad because I hoped they would work for what I need them for.

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Frequency

Short life for heat lamps

These lamps are cheap but the first lamp only lasted 51 days. I expected them to last a lot longer. It was very bright initially but faded at the end of 51 days. *** UPDATE All three lightbulbs were burned out. I bought them on 10/8/18 and now it's less than three months later, 3/1/19 and you're done. I am shocked!

  • Great for me

I have 2 out of 3 bad bulbs

2 out of 3 bulbs didn't work and the 3rd one was already burned out. It's been on for just over 2 weeks Bulb worked I wasn't sure if I could only return 2 so I wrote it off as a loss and threw it away! That was stupid of me as the third bulb died about a week after I had to buy more UVB and UVA bulbs.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Only available in black

They used to be good.

I have bought these lamps 4 or 5 times. Are they the longest lasting ehhh I could get about 2 months from a single bulb. But they do what they say and my turtle has limited UV requirements so it was fine. HOWEVER I bought a 3 pack a little over a WEEK ago and the last one just burned out! I will search for the best lightbulb for my turtle girl. They are overpriced now and definitely not worth the cost as they now seem unreliable. This is a sad drop in quality.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Cleanliness

All three bulbs blew in 5 1/2 weeks.

I've read reviews of these heat lamps so I wasn't shocked when the first one blew out but I was very disappointed that it only lasted a few days which is a lot less than what other reviews have stated. was the expected lifetime. The second lasted about a month and the third just a few minutes. I now realize that the last bulb probably died because the fixture failed and started smoking (see my fixture review), but the bulb life is still totally unacceptable.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Somewhat serviceable

Bulbs last 1 month or less each

I have my 3rd and final headlight in less than 2 months. The first lasted 4 weeks, the second - 3 weeks. Let's see how long this last light lasts. My Russian tortoise seems to love the light so they are decent when they are working. Expect to change the bulb at least monthly, even if you follow all the instructions. **Update I bought another set because if they last 3 months a set that's 6 months for $28 and that's reasonable enough. I will spend the next 3 months looking for the best…

Amazing for Fluorescent Lights For Reptiles

I've searched everywhere for a fluorescent light that would be perfect for my leopard gecko. A lot of people have had issues with durability, lamp brightness, energy used etc and this has put me off almost every lamp I've seen. Then my friend showed me the theses and they have been working since I got them. Since I have a leopard gecko, he doesn't use it for sunbathing, but to heat his cave. I also like the idea of a set so I can wait quite a while before I need to buy more. I didn't handle it…

Pros
  • Best in Niche

  • Useless Features

Good price - reptiles and amphibians

These lights get quite hot which is both a good and bad thing. I use them on my lizard so I'm just careful not to burn him or make him uncomfortable. Basically I wanted it to give off some UVA and some UVB, not heat, so that's fine. I turn it on twice a day for just a few hours and so far so good. In fact, I also noticed increased activity in my lizard, which is what I was hoping for with UVA. But a word of caution: be very careful about the outlet you are using. I just screwed it into the…

Pros
  • Consistent test results
