🚴 Sport Comp V-Brake Set by Origin8 Review

Pretty good value if you're going from canti to v-brakes, but they didn't work for me. Note: If you use larger (taller) tires on your bike, they may not be able to clear the tire. Instead, I used Tektro brake levers. I run 27.5 x 2.5" tires on my old Gary Fisher 26" tire and the tires come out at 28.1" which are not compatible with the Orgin 8 kit.

When I switched the derailleurs from some Shimano Acera brake/trigger derailleurs to my wife's bike I needed to find a good means of ensuring she could be safe and confident stop. The price was great given the product and the requirements for their bike, installation was easy with minimal fuss and no major issues overall. They hold up just as well as the previous brakes (they're probably all from the same supplier) but they do exactly what we want them to do - stop safely and confidently.

Significantly better stopping power than cantilever brakes on an old bike and much easier to adjust/replace. Too bad I didn't buy it years ago. So I bought a cable and case at a bike shop. Well, a cable noodle boot doesn't fit a store-bought cap, so I had to buy a different noodle. This is Origin8 so I expected the same good quality from budget parts. When I first installed them on a cruiser bike with painted rims, the performance was lacking. I blamed it on the sick drives. The included cable sleeve curls into a ring about 3 inches in diameter. The ends are then woven in and out to hold the ring together.
