Must-Have Tool for Automotive Repairs

Based on my experience, this slide hammer extension is a game-changer in the body repair tools category. It's durable, easy to use, and adds significant reach to my slide hammer. The added length makes pulling dents from deep areas a breeze. The only con is that it can be heavy and cumbersome to use for extended periods. Overall, this is a must-have tool for any mechanic or auto body professional.

Pros
  • Provides an additional 17 inches of reach.
Cons
  • Requires the use of a slide hammer, limiting its compatibility with other tools.

As advertised on hammers and body carts

Goes well with my OTC slide hammer. This allowed me to get the hammer out of the car's wheel arch myself so I could get a straight pull. The CV joint popped out fine, although the CV joint puller (other manufacturers) was too thick so I had to use a vise. A bit expensive for a piece of metal but I think it's hard to ship.

Pros
  • Weight 2lb 7oz
Cons
  • Not the best

a bit pricey but definitely works

Well I thought $42 for a 12 inch piece of metal was a bit much but I was desperate. This thing turned 2 hours of frustration into about 5 minutes of work pulling a rusty axle out of a Ford Escort. But when you pick it up, it's clearly durable and well made. I should have just bought it straight away instead of all the homemade rigs I've tried that have all failed. I used it with an axle puller extension, skipped the lock nut to get more clearance and hit it really hard but didn't damage it on…

Pros
  • It will also pull other connections with hidden locking rings
Cons
  • disappear
