Didn't OTC even make them in the US?

does what it should. Too bad it's still made in the USA; noticed that the price didn't go down when they started buying goods from Taiwan. At least it's Taiwan and not their communist and totalitarian mainland cousins, so the quality seems top-notch.

If you want to remove the outer tie rod end.

If you want to remove the outer tie rod end from the steering knuckle. . . without damaging the trunk. . . there is a tool to get. I have used it for many years without damaging the tool or the tie rod boot. word to the wise. . . Apply some anti-seize to the threads.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Thumbs up; Best tools and gear

Great well made puller. In my case the problem was the size/length. My 1994 Dodge Dakota 4x4 had enough room for an intermediate arm, but not enough room to use it anywhere else on the front suspension. If location isn't a problem, then it's worth it. I would keep it if it was short enough to fit more of my trailer.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • There are downsides

Worked fine for the tie rod, though.

Worked well for removing the front tie rod ball joint on the BMW e39. The round nut that pushed the rod out continues to fall off the threaded portion of the tool shank. Return to Revain for replacement. It looks like the shank that slides into the threaded part is not straight. Revain sent a replacement, great customer service.

Pros
  • Great Price
Cons
  • Functionality

OTC products have let me down with this product

I have other OTC products that have worked for me but this one did not live up to expectations. It has only been used a few times and the tips of the jaws twist and curve. I contacted OTC but they don't give any guarantee because it was bought here. I'm still within the window to return to Revain so this is happening. Disappointed and move on.

Cons
  • No effect

Cheap junk. see photo

Cheap garbage. Don't waste your money, it broke on the first try (see photo). I used a medium wrench when I broke it. It won't even withstand a ratchet or a mid-length crusher. FYI I was trying to remove a small tie rod ball from a jeep when it broke. If you already have one, put on goggles when using it, it will break and scatter sharp bits of metal.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • High price

Significant! good for steering and suspension tools

This is one of my best/best tools in my battle chest. I'm always a bit in awe of hammering knuckles especially when they're aluminum and sometimes the hammering just doesn't work which is why I have pullers. I have used this tool on lower ball joints and LONG stem tie rods. , drag tie rods that never come out no matter how many hits they get. I don't know what I will do if the OTC tool breaks. Can I get another one under warranty? Anyway, I call it now: ESSENTIAL TOOL!

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I will write later
