Apparently American Tourister didn't intend for people to carry their suitcases long enough for the wheels to fall apart on their own (maybe 10 years max ? ), so it was the perfect replacement. As the originals are riveted you will need a hammer and punch to knock out the old axles which you can then use to remove the broken wheels. If AT used hex bolts in such axles, it wouldn't be that hard to make the swap. Rolls nice and smooth again and this time quieter.

  • Sturdy construction

Samsonite replacement

We wore out the original wheels and the luggage repair service charged over $100 to replace a set of four wheels. I used a repair service for our large suitcase and ordered a set of replacement wheels for another matching suitcase. The repair service completed the work within a few days. I watched a few videos on YouTube and I was sure that I could do the job. The exchange kit comes with two axle sizes, so take your time and fiddle with the fit. I used shorter axles and they fit perfectly. The…

Easy Peasey Installation

I don't even want to think about all the suitcases I threw away because the wheels broke. This 63 year old woman easily sawed off and replaced the old wheels from 2 Samsonite suitcases and 2 ATs, all with swivel wheels. The multicolored wheels are meant to make it easier to identify my luggage on the baggage carousel. Have tried dragging suitcases across carpet and it glides smoother. These wheels are quieter than the original wheels on both pavement and tiles. Excellent purchase. I will buy an

Suitcase wheels Review

I bought this to replace my London Fog suitcase wheels. I couldn't find any spare wheels online, nor any website for luggage repairs or parts. Since I got the case used and didn't want to shell out money for a new case, I bought this set. The wheels of the London Fog luggage were 50mm x 15mm wide. Judging by their size, they were a suitable replacement for her. The London Fog case I have has turning wheels marked A37 and a square bolt pattern. I couldn't find a replacement set for them online…

Perfect spare wheel for heavily used luggage Samsonite

We have a 20 year old Samsonite swivel bag with swivel wheels that are dry rotted. We were keen to keep the bag and replace the wheel assembly but due to the age I couldn't even find the bag let alone the wheels. Tried these and they worked great! After removing the old wheels from the wheel mount with a hacksaw, I just put them back in place and we're back in business (travelling). What a great solution! I really liked the choice of two axle lengths as it's not easy to determine the exact…

The best set available for the price + better than described!

I rarely take the time to review a product, but if you need new luggage wheels (or replacement steel casters in my case), buy this product. First, you get four (4) wheels, each with their own wheel bearings, plus two different sized mounting axles (see photo), all for a price that most other vendors charge for just two (2) wheels. Second, the quality is better than described (I won't bore you with the details, but I was expecting crap and was quite surprised by what I got). Third, which I know…

  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Not bad

A great way to save the Samsonite spinning wheel case from landfill.

Set of spare wheels delivered within 1 day, easy to assemble. First, accurately measure the old wheel, which for my Samsonite mounted on Hyperspin 3 was 49mm in diameter with a 20mm hub width. The next choice was 50mm, so I figured a 1/2mm height difference wouldn't matter. I then removed the axle covers on the old wheel and carefully trimmed the axle crimp with a carbide bit on my Dremel tool. If you linger it will overheat and melt the plastic of the swivel. I poured some oil into the new…

Good price, check the length of the axles

Conclusion Overall good price and easy installation Installation tips: A) Spread everything out, especially the axles, and check the lengths with the ruler below for more info), B) To remove, you can cut through the old wheel and axle with a hacksaw; Be careful not to cut the wheel arm, C) If you can't get back to remove the wheel assembly from the case you can use a vice to cut it in place (that was my situation), D) Try it You want to use enough shims so that the wheel arms don't compress…
