Everyone needs a pair of these!

These tongs are one of the most used kitchen tools I own. They are just right - long enough but not too long, safe to use in non-stick and hard anodized pans, heat resistant enough to be used at higher temperatures, lock works and stays locked when you need it but still easy to close unlock when you need it. And they safely go in the dishwasher for cleaning. They wear out over time - plastic parts aren't 100% heat resistant, springs can rust and break, the cam bends if you hit it on a hard…

Pros
  • Great for transferring food
Cons
  • Problems

I cook a lot and love using tools that get the job done without breaking or falling apart while cooking. That's why I trust OXO products, they are well made and have proven themselves. These tongs are another great product with added features that make cooking easier. I've had these for 8 years and they work just as well when I bought them. The silicone handles hold the pot firmly even if they get wet from the steam escaping from the pot. The ends are coated with silicone so they won't scratch…

Pros
  • Great for turning and lifting veggies
Cons
  • Easily torn

Good design - kitchen gadgets and gadgets

I love these tongs from Oxo and they work almost as well as their uncoated brethren. I say "almost" because for some reason the "arrows" don't always line up exactly, but since they're only slightly offset I'm not going to complain. I have tried other pliers that are much worse. With these pliers, I've found that this very small amount of displacement doesn't seem to affect performance at all. I would not use them in very high temperatures as the nylon can and will melt. But if they do melt, I…

Pros
  • Serrated edges hold food securely
Cons

After 5 tongs out of the box, this is finally the winner!

Using these tongs for cooking; Turning meat in a pan and the like. After buying 5 pieces on the shelves, this is the winner! PLEASE READ - Let me explain what to look out for and what has gone wrong with other pliers I've bought. 1) Rubber grip at the end to open the pliers. Some pliers just have a round rubber coating on a metal frame, but after a few openings and closings, the metal inside will eat into the rubber, leaving only metal on the end that can be opened and closed. Not with these…
