Well, I've never skated in my life, but these are definitely skates to start with. I'm learning and definitely enjoying it. I usually wear a size 6.5 in every other shoe but after reading other reviews I settled on size 7. I have a semi-wide foot and the forefoot didn't feel tight which made me feel better. When I received them I noticed that they were slightly soiled as shown in the photos. I was actually fine as I knew I would be using them a lot and they would probably get even dirtier. What
