Not Old Pearl Izumi Compression Shorts

I was glad to receive these as they should have matched the shorts I bought a few years ago - same description and tag. They had less padding and could not be carried alone. Completely disappointed. I was willing to pay a higher price as I expected better quality but what came was not what I expected. Save Your Money - Pearl Izumi has given up market share and is using its reputation to charge high prices.

Cons
  • Expensive

Major Pearl Izumi fails with these

This is one of the few items for Pearl Izumi cyclists whose design is an epic failure. While the suede is nice and absorbs vibrations well and the legs squeeze well and stay in place, the waistband on them is honestly NO. If you buy them according to your waist size, the belt will slip a lot when riding, which is very annoying. Very little elasticity in them to keep them in place. Do not buy!

Pros
  • Base Layers & Compression
Cons
  • Clarity

The best I've worn so far

You are awesome. I wear them under Pearl Canyon shorts as they are far superior to a standard liner. Instead of a material-wrapped elastic to keep the short legs in place, they use a large surface area in a comfortable material. The waste strip is well stitched and very comfortable. The material where the sit bones come into contact with the seat is also non-mesh, reducing the friction the seat puts on your butt on a bumpy road. I have several liners but if not washed between trips. I take them

Pros
  • clothes, shoes and jewelry
Cons
  • The list will be long.

The shorts are excellent but sizing is an issue.

5 star shorts but the sizing is just a disaster. 10 stars deducted for the seller. These shorts are 2 sizes too small. I'm medium height for 40 years, I have to wear these shorts very large and they still fit tight. Don't trust the copied size chart they posted. It has nothing to do with the actual size of these shorts. I'm 5'9" tall, 170 lbs, 20" hips and 34" waist, which is about the American average. I also tried the large, same thing, too tight. I paid $100 for an awful one Size given by aโ€ฆ
