Looks good at first glance, but not worth the money!

I bought two of these in February this year and have already had to replace a part under warranty. Now the impeller of my Cascade 1500 is loose and pumping water. The filter started making a grinding noise. I opened it up and found that the impeller didn't fit snugly in the bushing, which allowed the shaft to slip out. The rattle I heard was a magnet spinning on a shaft rattling in a plastic impeller that was no longer attached. At first they looked like quality parts, but it has now turned out

Well packaged, works straight away. A few months later he started making a lot of noise and then defecating. There were no leaks, the lid was tight, but when I shake the canister, air comes out. I took the top off and made sure the sealing areas were clean but the problem persisted. Ten months after purchase I replaced the filter media and when I turned it back on it just made a grinding noise (bearings?). It doesn't suck even if I suck it up manually. I have never found instructions on what to

I find I can easily adequately filter a 200 gallon aquarium.

I have a 10 year old red eared turtle, a 3-1 year old goldfish (4 inch) and 9 other 1 year old cheap sloppy fish. This filter keeps the water pristine without modification. I clean the media every two months and change it every two months. So. I install new media, then clean next month, then install new media again next month. Then repeat the cycle. at least for disposable media. Sometimes there can be 6 weeks in between because I work a lot, especially after the big tide here on the Texasโ€ฆ

Ordered 2 elite units and received 2 regular units with no extra filter media and other things mentioned which I paid an extra $20 each for ($40 total). And they are very loud, they make a lot of noise. If you put them on the ground it's a bit quieter, so I don't recommend putting them at the same height as the tank. One makes a whistling noise and the other makes a whistling noise about every few minutes. The fill button didn't work. I had to fill it with water first and siphon the waterโ€ฆ

Here are some tips if you're having trouble with the filter!

I've had this filter for five months now and have had ups and downs. It would be nice to know how to set up an aquarium for specific fish or turtle species. I have two turtles that can swim and I have found that this filter cannot be used with a half full tank, it needs to be almost full for it to filter and work properly. Also, you need to fix the environment to make it work. Searched youtube for different settings for finding fish, settings for turtles, had to google the correct filterโ€ฆ

A bit picky, but great results.

Cascading canister filters tend to get the best ratings or are comparable to other leading brands. We have a turtle in about 35 gallons of water. she is dirty And she likes to push the tube and see what she can use in an escape attempt and what she can destroy just for fun. Fortunately, this filter held up after I made some minor (simple) tweaks, such as: B. the anchorage above. Some helpful tips. To start, place it where you want it (level with or below the tank) and pour purified water intoโ€ฆ
